If you mean an English Challenger tank, clearly they are very good. Possibly they even have Cappuccino machines and microwave ovens in the turret to make life easier But life in a tank is not good, and all the machines break down sooner or later. Maybe it's because they're painted green. It doesn't matter whose tank you're in Volunteer for track maintenance, and your love of tanks will disappear. Permanently. Unless you are a masochist |

There was a story that the Americans left an Abrams with unfixable engine problems in the care of a Brit REME workshops in Um Qasr in April 2003. Apparently the Reems (always more interested in playing with new things than fixing Brit kit) had the thing moving in less than an hour.
Never did find out if they gave it back. |

It would be easier in a British or US tank,Soviet tanks are very cramped inside,Only the shorter Red Army soldiers could serve in Them...

I live (in the direction of) Chobham and I've seen Abrahams and Challengers on the backs of transporters. Thats how i found out US tanks use Chobham armour however the stuff we give them isn't as good as the stuff we use. (Apparently!)

The worst is when your driver (it's always him) breaks a track in the middle of nowhere, it's cold, it's night, everyone hates each other, and you still have to fix the thing otherwise you're going nowhere. Tracks are hard work In fact, even on sunny days on a hard, flat surface Tracks can be hard work. Only women are worse |

Palo let me correct that for you,
It's cold, it's night and the driver throws track in the largest pool of freezing water for twenty miles. And you are so right about the women. |

THe Brits and Americans
This statement makes no sense. The brits and Americans have been friends since before world war 1. The Americans and the brits have been helping each other since. Just like the Americans have given the brits there fire control systems for British tanks the brits have given the Americans Chobham Armor the the American tanks. This is just one example of cooperation. Britain is one of the few country's that can get American jets with all the bells. and the Americans have access to the great Rolls Royce engines Lets remember at the time these tanks were designed we were in the middle of the colds war and the brits and the Americans were facing a large eastern block tank force
