As to the "carry guard insurance" - https://lockton.nracarryguard.com/ - I don't see how providing insurance for lawful use of a firearm is contrary to New York State public policy. As to why the various insurance companies settled with New York, I can only guess it wasn't a profitable line of business and not worth a legal fight with a State entity that was trying to score political points.
So I repeat, Fuck New York State. |

As to the coverage for a criminal act, no insurance covers for an intentional criminal act, but accidental criminal acts - under other types of insurance - are covered. I.E. Home, Car, etc.
https://www.insure.com/car-insurance...egal-acts.html So why does New York State go after only gun insurance - ? I repeat Fuck New York State. |

more on the gutless Republicans in Congress
Michael Cohen’s guilty plea underscores congressional Republicans’ total abdication of responsibility
But there’s plenty of other stuff they could be looking into. After all, the president is openly using his hotel in downtown Washington to accept direct payments from people, corporations, and foreign states with lobbying interests before the United States government. Meanwhile, he’s doing the same thing with more secrecy at his golf clubs in New Jersey, Virginia, and Florida. And we really have no idea what’s happening with the rest of the sprawling network of shell companies he and his family control. Nor have we taken a good look at the very real possibility that his fake charitable foundation was a form of illegal tax evasion or that he bribed the attorney general of Florida to prevent scrutiny of his fake university or the women who’ve accused him of sexual assault. And it’s not as if Trump’s track record places him above suspicion. Very early on in his casino career he avoided bankruptcy only with the help of an illegal loan from his father. From Trump’s empty-box tax scam to money laundering at his casinos to racial discrimination in his apartments to Federal Trade Commission violations for his stock purchases to Securities and Exchange Commission violations for his financial reporting, he has spent his entire career breaking various laws, getting caught, and then essentially plowing ahead unharmed. When Trump was caught engaging in illegal racial discrimination to please a mob boss, he paid a fine. There was seemingly not much inquiry into whether this was a repeated pattern of violating racial discrimination law, and certainly no desire to take a closer look at his various personal and professional connections to the mafia. Trump even paid out a $25 million civil settlement to make fraud claims against his fake university go away. And, remarkably, the fact that his university was fake wasn’t even the fraudulent part. Rather than look into any of this, congressional Republicans are whistling past the graveyard and have plunged the country into a constant state of constitutional crisis.

On American Race Relations #1
The following is a statement of my opinion and understanding as of today. I reserve the right to learn something new and alter my views at any time.
What Black Lives Matter Does Not Understand about White Folk 1. Even many racist white folks are not hostile to black folks. It is understood that a person must be judged as an individual. A person who earns respect will be treated fairly and even be supported at work and in the community. The crazed white supremacists are widely disliked in the white community and a very small minority. 2. White folks (and I suspect other ethnic groups) have some contempt for black folk because black folks were slaves. This is unfair given the legal measures, terrorism, and violence that were used to keep blacks enslaved. It also tends to overlook the many black slaves who ran away and the periodic slave revolts. American history typically overlooks the role that the combat units of freed slaves played in tipping the balance during the Civil War. The South deeply resented former slaves being armed and deployed against them. Black POWs were summarily executed. But the role of African Americans in securing their own freedom is downplayed in conventional reports. So, when white folks hear about reparations for slavery, they tend to think that hundreds of thousands of white men died to secure the freedom of black people who let themselves be enslaved. There isn't much sympathy for the claims of black folk. Plus, white working people are barely hanging on as it is. 3. White folks note that the leading cause of death for young black men and women is being murdered by young black men. Thousands of black people are killed by black men for every one killed by a white policeman. Yes, extra legal killings by police are horribly wrong and need to be stopped. But, we really would feel a lot more sympathy if black lives seemed to matter more to black people. |

Interesting that Feinstein just happens to get a letter about Kavanaugh's supposed forced sex attempt when he was in high school at this particular junction in time. Of course the accuser not only won't come forward but wishes the letter to not be published.
Me thinks I smell a rotten rodent somewhere and not in Kavanaugh's camp at least at this time. The only thing that would make this a more transparent try at disrailing the confirmation is if Hillary or Reed did it. Oh and I have no leanings either way about the hearings. This is just so damn suspicious that it ain't even funny. |

We dislike the idea of reparations because both the enslavers & the enslaved are at the bare minimum over 100 years dead in the ground, some many more. We don't believe a descendant should have to suffer or pay up for the crimes of their long past grand parents. |

But you do have a point. As my disclaimer noted, I am a soon to be 70 year old white man who grew up in the 1950s and 1960s. Are you aware that it took a 1968 Supreme Court decision to end legal housing discrimination in California? Things have changed very much for the better. One thing that makes me much encouraged is that my nieces and nephews in their 20s & 30s are not infected with the knee jerk racism that infects those of us who grew up in an environment where systemic racism was openly championed and casual racists stereotypes part of the culture. Gay rights weren't even on the horizon back then. Cops would target homosexuals to collect fines in the same way that speed traps are used to generate revenue. I can't speak for the South or Midwest, but here in NorCal, the racial climate is much improved. |
