My first impression was these are Stephen Hicks photos even before I read your question. The style and backdrop are all his.

is not J. Stephen Hicks

he worked with Hicks for a good long time at DDG [not to be confused with Digital Dream Girls] and Foxy Flix which is why the style is so familiar.
Back in the early days of DDG you could tell a Hicks shoot from an Evans shoot by the suffix of the setname. Dreamgirls or DRM were Hicks shoots; Creamgirls or CRM were by Scott.

But not listed as any of the aka's you mention.

OK, I accept your points.

What made me link the two was the use of wooden ladders, which feature in quite a few of Hicks' sets--part of the Hicks Shtik?

Off topic: I sometimes see other examples where one photog. has "borrowed" an idea from another contemporary--usually in terms of "props"/ideas for pictorial/cover shot scenarios. That would perhaps be more likely to occur where the two have worked together... or else not if they consciously try to distinguish themselves, depending on how "principled" they feel.

Sorry, I should perhaps find some examples to illustrate & start a thread... but not just now.
