Not really really fairplay!
Fairplay eh?

Maybe many still feel aggrieved because Switzerland laundered hundreds of millions of dollars in stolen assets much of it from holocaust victims, and gold taken from the central banks of German-occupied Europe.

At the war's end Switzerland successfully resisted Allied calls to restitute most of these funds.

What I want to say, it's... all these countries are ethically rotten. Switzerland, like England and its "strange" islands, like Andorra, Monaco, Luxembourg, Panama or USA with Delaware.

Look at British or French banks based in all these tax heavens countries or islands.

Sorry, why is this a 'scandal'?

This is the Single Market (which CH is a member) in operation.
What is illegal or even immoral here? Is it not just entrepreneurial?

Because they didn't declare the meat to the custom, they didn't pay the VAT and the meat was not transported in hygienical conditions.

Three months ago? Congratulations. This week will be my third anniversary since I quit smoking. You're going to have a much bigger weight problem. Try to avoid anything with high sugar levels at least if you're not the sporty type.

Be reasonable - all the folks who could have been 'restituted' were dead.

Re taking meat into Switzerland - they don't search the train at the border but they do stop cars....

And where are the breakthroughs in battery technology to make all this work? Has anyone calculated just how much energy is required to run all the vehicles on UK roads?

Then there's the issue of road tax and the immense amount of duty collected from fuel. What will the government do to maintain this income?

I don't doubt that we'll eventually switch to electric vehicles and there will be self driving vehicles in due course, but do the UK and other governments really think this can all be done in the drop of a hat?

I've crossed from Geneva into France many times by car and have never been stopped. Must have an honest face.

Sadly Okto I put three stone on after stopping smoking (even though I didn't snack). Continued with the phys but now five years on, have ankle and knee probs.

Your observation seems to be politically incorrect, but you are not wrong.

We have to think a little bit, what would happen, if all the former occidental colonies on this planet would request money back or land back for what it was stolen or not paid at a fair price to their native ancesters.

Do native European people have to return the American and Oceanian continents or some Africans countries to their native owners?
The ex-French president, Jacques Chirac said:

"Since centuries, we almost get all our comfort from the exploitation of Africa."
