shame not every cast member managed to 'carry on' into decent roles afterwards...

have to say that kenneth connor's role as l'eclair (french not my strong point) in 'allo 'allo was possibly my most hated comedy character ever... but then never rated him in the carry on's that much either...... even dear old peter butterworth could have made a better job with that script and cast around him.....??!! of its time, 'allo 'allo was really good... aged now of course... but thats life.

If I remember correctly Kenneth Connor was a ghost in Rentaghost in later series. Joan Sims was Lady Fox-Custard(pronounced Coostard) in a children's comedy series and Bernard Bresslaw did a voice in cartoon series called Game Over or at least that is what he uttered each week-possibly a chimp?? Barbara Windsor eventually took on the role of Peggy Butcher in Eastenders and Kenneth Williams cropped up as the voiceover and characters for Willo the Wisp cartoon series.

Talking about Kenneth Conner made me think about Carry On England. The film itself was pretty dire (one of the later, shittier ones) but Kenneth Conner was great in it as the Battery Commander, really pompous.

Paterick Mower (now in Emmerdale

) was the male lead/letch and was bloody awful, but an actress that 'stood out' was a young lady with a bubble perm and the most fantastic tits.

Cant remember her name.
