I've heard that tune used a lot in neo-burlesque acts. It doesn't quite do the trick for me so its not in my collecion, but its really annying me now that I can't recall its name and I can't Shazam it, maybe because of the sound quality. I suspect Wild will be able to put a name to it though

I listened to the Valerie Perrine clip again and I am not sure but it sounds a bit like Thanks for the Memory, which used to be the theme tune that introduced and later sung by Bob Hope. What do you lot think? I have to say that the copy posted had terrible sound quality and you really need to see the clip in it's entirety with better sound.

I agree with the overall synopsis - the quality of the music was horrible. Guess I should've given a better warning! Until earlier tonight, I didn't have a better version. The video was more of a music + performance thing for me.
I wanted to share another song with all, and it is pretty obscure. I can't post a direct link, because it on the EMI production music site, but I assure you, it is really top quality. If you go to the homepage and type "Hey Hot Lips" in the search engine, it will take you to a full length version of this song, credited to a "Dick Walter". I stumbled on to it a few years ago and I really like it. You can download an mp3, but you have to create a free account. Using the search engine, there is also a song by Richard Myhill called "Speakeasy". It's pretty good, too. Let me know what ya think. If anyone wants to share something back, that would be cool, too. |

I used to have the "Take It Off" CD (naturally) so that's why I thought it would be in my collection, but I didn't rip it. Also recommended on the EMI site mentioned by givittome... Speaking of Valerie, my original upload(post 35) seems to have gone so here is a new link to it. Size 16.2MB and format AVI. Enjoy.

Wow, looks like I was late to the party there! It's credited on the soundtrack CD as Lament, the clip on YouTube has a phase effect applied, which gradually increases over the course of the routine, but doesn't appear to be on the original version from Greenmans clip.

Got another one I'd like to share...
This is a version of the blues classic Tin Roof Blues. As I've mentioned, used properly, some blues classics can be quite arousing for striptease. Harlem Nocturne, St. James Infirmary, etc... I found this one a couple of years ago. It is played by a band named La Vella Dixieland. It is a bit long, but never lets up, and has a great finish. Put yourself in a striptease hall south of the border - ala Salma Hayek in From Dusk Till Dawn... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9hPVqwVtAM |

It said "video not available" for me. Might be a location thing.
This link worked, though although it is a different band and probably a different arrangement. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kmLTIMmViA |

That arrangement is available on Spotify, just search for La Vella Dixieland, it's on the album "Hot Time".

For some reason, their links don't work for everyone, all the time. I've been searching for a totally different link, but haven't found one yet. Thanks for the Spotify reference, Wild_Stallion |
