On extremism (be it right wing, left wing, religious or atheistic): speaking as a tolerant, broadminded liberal moderate type, I would like to condemn all extremists to serve long spells in the Big Brother House.

On Michael Jackson: I was no great fan of his but I always recognised his exceptional stature as an artist. However I too am a little bit fed up of the extent of the coverage his death attracted: you would think that a Pope, a President of the United States or a Queen of Great Britain had died out of the blue. I would like MJ to rest in peace and his fans in the media to allow me to rest in peace as well.

On spitting: gobbing on the pavement is a disgusting trick. It will become more prevalent unless people challenge and discourage it. Ditto the filthy swine who leave their used chewing gum, full of their DNA, to attach itself to my foot or my trousers if I sit on a park bench or in a bus. If only Swine Flu were a targetted germ warfare agent zeroing in on the spitters and the chewing gum discarding louts.

I've just finished a 200 mile drive on our motorways and I will mention again the zombies who are irresistably drawn to the minimal safe, empty space right in front of the nose of my car. They've never had an accident, but they've seen plenty of accidents in their rear view mirror. Morons.

Indeed. Any sort of extremism is inherently a bad thing to my mind as it negates rationality and can lead to violence and oppression of others in its worse states. Due to being involved on certain other forums I see more of the zealous right wanting to force such things on people and effectively turn the West into something akin to Saudi Arabia. Not good...

Most annoying thing for me lately is having to amend my fellow members contributions for using certain swear words , and the second most annoying thing is then having to explain myself to them as to why i "Ruined" their post etc etc

Hey i didn't make the house rules , but we ALL signed up to them and avoiding coarse language is one . Listen i`m not a Nazi (Well i`ve removed the banner from outside my house now at least ) or such like , so how about we all try our gosh darn dandly noodle bestest not to use those harsh four letter words (Or sixteen plus ones, if you`re feeling adventurous ) and instead self moderate our tone . That way i won`t seem like a crusher of spirits , as i much prefer to be thought of as a downer of them

Quote " Hey you handsome sucker why you gone turned ma post upside down !"

I refer my honourable member to the answer i gave previously

And the spate of posts I have deleted to the effect of "I'd **** the a**e of that", "what a h**ry c**t" and others not quite as intellectually enlightening. It may be the heat raising testosterone through the roof but come on folks, lighten up.
Hey I've thrown a few wildcards in as well, that'll annoy some people even more, 2 b*rds with 1 st*ne.

All the dickheads at Glasto waving f*cking inane flags everywhere so that those a few rows back can't see f*ck all and a decent film cannot be made...

Waving a f*ck off big CND flag, or any flag for that matter while trying to get yer face on the tv means one thing.....you are a big c*nt!

Go there and listen to the music, watch the bands....but don't be a total dick.

Since when was it the norm to completely hide the pyramid stage with these f*cking things??

The should be flag police walking around with big sharp f*cking nasty shears to cut the things up....and the flags should get some too....

Rant over....

Television advertisements when people who have absolutely no authority or expertise blart on about how great a product is. A few that leap to mind are the Shredded Wheat adverts (in which ordinary people tell you how great SW is by READING THE INFORMATION OFF THE SIDE OF THE PACKET), the confused.com ads, in which ordinary people tell you how great the site is by smugly stating how much they saved by using it (yet not how stupid/lazy they were for not shopping around previously) and the toothpaste ads (I can't remember the brand, which shows the power of advertising) in which someone talks about tooth problems, recommends that you see a dentist (which to me then invalidates anything they may say after this) and then suggest how a toothpaste, such as brand x may help with the problem.

I can only assume that all the advertising agencies sat down together and came up with "word of mouth" as great idea for a way to promote their products. Without realising that "word of mouth" only works if you know and trust the person from whose mouth said words are being spoken. Or perhaps as a society, we're now all so dumb and shallow that we accept the words of someone on the telly, purely because they're on the telly.

Could be the latter point, Heat, Ok!, Hello! et all have made a fortune off the backs of "celebrities" with exactly those credentials.

Default TV adverts for Vanish stain remover products

Slowdiver: those adverts are bad, but this one is even worse.

Really obnoxious cow advertising Vanish stain removal products:

All non-UK members who dont know who or what I'm talking about, I can only say:

You LUCKY b*****ds!!!

I have mentioned her before and hoped never to think of her again: some hope. This woman, with her false unsufferable smug cheery smile, her patronising patter telling everyone else that they don't know how to wash clothes, her general demeanor of invincible superiority, makes me radiant with toxic hatred. If I have to go to Hell, it make well be for cursing her and wishing her evil fortune.

Thing is though guys ads are done by Marketing Consultants who basicaly know nothing about the product but have a clutch of 'buzz' phrases and scenarios in their limited armoury hence ads go off on a tangent to to the actual product and becomes crap.
Guess what I do for a living
