This is the centerfold which appeared in the issue of PB regarding the movie which I remember seeing when I purchased that issue back then.

IMHO this is Colleen. Does it really matter if it was Colleen or Lynda? It is a great picture regardless. I have put my "two cents" in about this and will end further comment with this post. Obviously others wish to continue the debate......have at it.

Something I noticed in that pic with the two side by side. The woman on the right, has a freckle on her left breast. The woman on the left, Lynda Carter allegedly, does not. Also, the nipples appear to be a bit different. But that could just be the angle/resolution of the two pics. Unless they airbrushed out the freckle on the "Lynda Carter" pic, those are not the same breasts.

It's obviously not the same picture, nor the same "model". The only possibility of it not being Lynda is if there was some OTHER woman (not Colleen and not Lynda) doing the SAME photoshoot, and then someone photoshopping Lynda's head onto the body. But what are the odds for that? Specially considering we KNOW Lynda was in the film, playing the same character. And that there's EVIDENCE (Colleen Camp's interview) that she also did the photoshoot (and there's no reason she wouldn't have. A prop like that is part of pre-production, and she was already in the production stage filming scenes).

The body looks exactly like Lynda's too. The shape of the breasts and the nipples (as seen on Bobbie Jo and the Outlaw), and even the hands. It would be almost impossible to find a random model who has the exact same body as Lynda Carter to pose for a photoshoot recreating the centerfold just to fake a nude picture of Lynda Carter. Not only almost impossible, but it's a really stretching line of thought. I can't see anyone going to such lengths when she was already nude in Bobbie Jo.

I made a gif juxtaposing the two pictures to make it 100% clear it's not the same photo or model. I'm gonna link to the post on the gif thread because I'm not sure I can directly post a gif on this thread.

If I can post it, here it is anyway. Apologize in advance if I can't.

I think the folks weighing in recently haven't worked through the thread.

There are a hundred researched, referenced facts in this thread.

All the facts line up. Easily and convincingly - if you follow it through.

But use Occam's Razor, to begin with.

Why would anyone make a fake for the Apocalypse Now production by posing someone else and then posing Lynda to place her head?

Why go to all this work? What is the point? She was still a nobody. She'd be famous within the year, but when she went to Olongapo in the spring of 1976, she was a struggling actress that took nude work in B movies. Wonder woman was not a shoo-in at all. Lynda working nude in May 1976?

Bobbie Jo and the Outlaw:

"Back in the day, when we did this, it was not an issue!"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fiq7_lMc8tU&t=4m15s

"Not an issue"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-wh_8rxINY&t=3m35s

The internet will tell you:
Lynda struggled and had $25 in her bank account when she was called up for the Wonder Woman pilot based on a screen test for the prior one.

Lynda Carter was picked out of an acting class, along with 3 or 4 others, to do Bobbie Jo and the Outlaw - a drive-in B movie with plenty of nudity.

She had already done the Wonder Woman pilot. But she had no idea it would break out.

Principal photography on Bobbie Jo - with her prior nude scene - wrapped September 1975.

The Wonder Woman pilot aired November 1975, people liked it, but it was risky.

She filmed two more Wonder Woman "specials" that were aired April 1976.

After April 1976, Lynda Carter went to the Philippines for a bit part in Apocalypse now. Typhoon Olga hit the Phillipines and wrecked the Apocalypse Now set she was working on May 1976.

She finished her scenes after the typhoon let up, but found out on the phone ABC ordered 11 episodes for the "Wonder Woman" series. She immediately returned to the States.

Colleen Camp was cast, etc. Some scenes shot during the typhoon period didn't need to be reshot - they showed the Lynda centerfold only from a distance. All that was needed was a Colleen Camp centerfold with the same pose for closeup shots. So there is one. Not determinative as to whether the Lynda Carter one is a fake or not, really.

She kept working, became famous.

On December 1977 visiting her family in Phoenix Lynda Carter became a born-again Christian.

Why would anyone need to make a fake nude?

Lynda Carter was a beautiful nobody that had done nude scenes for a B movie a 7 months earlier. She would happily have sat for that prop.

Yes. All the research in here is interesting but I can't get past that weird neck. Her left middle finger aligns with a strange line across the neck. Someone posted a bunch of gifs in here of her from the Bobby Jo movie and no one really responded but it seems like it was meant show her neck in various positions and movements and nowhere does it seem like she has this sort of strange shape nor could any movement of her head produce it.

Hey moon, I have read that Mecey interview before. For me, it doesn't work that he could have been Lynda's photographer for the nude pic (either for use as a legit centerfold or as AN prop). In that article he talks about getting started photographing women:

"The subject that probably set the course of my photographing women was doing a portrait of a client’s daughter back in the late 70’s in Texas. I had only been shooting a couple years when I began to reach out to local businesses in my hometown to gain work for my photography."

We know that Typhoon Olga ripped up the Philippines on May 26, 1976, so whatever involvement Lynda had (or didn't have to the naysayers) with AN certainly ended on this date. So using his statement of shooting for a couple years by the late 70's would put him starting 1975 at best, when he was 23. I can't imagine a Hollywood production company hiring a newbie kid out of Texas to make that shoot. On his website he says himself that he started working for Playboy in 1979 so no possibility he was the photographer for a legit Playboy shoot with Lynda prior to 1979 (and doubtful she posed after WW ended in 1979).

SO...proof of the actual photographer is still out there...

Found on an Auction site...https://www.invaluable.com/auction-l...-c-68253ba52c#

Lot 365: Original Lynda Carter "Miss May" Playboy Bunny costume sketch for Apocalypse Now.

The sketches and LOA confirm that Lynda Carter was originally cast to play Bunny #3 "Miss May". This tends to support the hypothesis that a "centerfold" of her in that role was taken but still is not definitive proof.

Quote:
365. Original Lynda Carter “Miss May” Playboy Bunny costume sketch for Apocalypse Now. (United Artists, 1979) In Francis Ford Coppola’s classic war epic, Apocalypse Now, Lynda Carter was cast as touring Playboy Bunny “Miss May”, stranded in war-ravaged Vietnam. But when a real-life typhoon destroyed the film set and Carter’s Wonder Woman hiatus ended, scheduling conflicts arose and the part was recast. While Colleen Camp stepped into the role, much peripheral and promotional material had already been generated around Carter. Here are (2) Costume sketches by legendary production designer Alex Tavoularis for Lynda Carter as “Miss May”. Including: (1) Sketch accomplished in pencil on 14 x 17 in. artist leaf tipped to 18 x 22 in. board depicting Carter in scanty American Indian-themed costume. With many pencil notes and detail study sketches in the margins and (1) 8.5 x 11 in. sketch on 3-hole punch paper with a pencil and ink detail of a moccasin with additional paste-up elements including pencil notes. It’s been said that Carter’s unused Playboy centerfold generated for the movie looks almost identical to the Colleen Camp centerfold seen posted on the film’s river patrol boat. Included is a copy of the October 1979 issue of Playboy magazine, featuring an article on Apocalypse Now, which includes an image of the resulting Colleen Camp “Miss May” centerfold and a picture of the patrol boat with the centerfold posted on the wheelhouse. All in very good condition. Comes with an LOA from production designer Alex Tavoularis.

$2,000 - $3,000

More evidence

It is known for Lynda Carter's fans that she often wears her own clothes and pieces of jewelry while playing roles. This can be seen in episodes of Wonder Woman and even in special appearances in other shows while comparing to candid photos of her.

And in the centerfold, she's wearing the exact same rings she wears in Bobbie Jo and the Outlaw. Only the right hand ring can be seen in Colleen's version but I think it is not the same type of ring, just similar. Also notice that Colleen is wearing a bracelet, while Lynda isn't.

Here are the images comparing the centerfolds to screenshots from Bobbie Jo and the Outlaw. You can see the rings have the same shape and details.

We know for sure that it's not Colleen's body with Lynda's head, and to have another model have the exact same rings Lynda wore in a different role to fake a picture is REALLY pushing it.
