Back to Hamilton High School again, it's 1957 and Prom Queen Mary Lou Maloney is caught cheating on her prom date, the pissed off suitor's plan to humiliate her goes wrong and she dies on stage in flames.
Thirty years later and Vicki Carpenter (Wendy Lyon) is searching for a dress for the prom and finds some material in an old trunk; her friend Jess accidentally releases Mary Lou's spirit whilst messing around with her tiara. Mary Lou takes over Vicki and turns her from a gentle geek into a 1950's bombshell.
Mary Lou's date Bill Nordham is now principal of the school and his son is coincidentally dating Vicki.
A far better film than the original although the only thing they have in common is they are set in the same school.

The Brits sure have a strange sense of humour.

This is funnier than those Austin Powers movies.

It got old already after the 3rd or 4th time!!

Managed to survive 45 to 50 minutes of this utter tosh before switching off.

Murder on the Orient Express

I used to read my mums Agatha Christie books back in my youth. Every time they make one of these it seems to get further and further away from the book. The cast saved the film for me.

Watched the acclaimed horror film, A Quiet Place, this weekend, nice use of tension and sound in this one. Even the annoying child characters couldn't quite derail it. **** out of *****

I watched Geostorm (2017) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geostorm - Gerard Butler male lead. Nice to see Alexandra Maria Lara in something other than Downfall. Abbie Cornish is a rather attractive actress who I was surprised to find out is an Aussie and a rapper. It got bad reviews. Kept waiting for a nip slip by Abbie but was disappointed.

Disaster film with little scientific reality behind it. Rogue US bad men (Ed Harris) want to hold the world in the palm of their hands. English coder sells out the world for a few coins.

No nekkid womin.

It opens with a halloween dance and the spirit of Mary Lou Maloney returns to stalk Hamilton High, this time she picks on meek saxophonist and average student Alex and turns him into a genius and American Football star and gets his assistance in burying the school staff she disposes of.
An average horror helped by liberal doses of black humour including the tannoy announcements

MANDY

After his quiet life with his beloved Mandy is destroyed by a sadistic cult,Red Miller seeks revenge and oh what an odyssey it is......

PRAISE: Sure Nicolas Cage has been making a a lot of B and C flicks lately,but in Mandy he shows why he is still one of the best actors around.This is a complete dedication to a role,completely immersing himself in a character.

Andrea Riseborough is great as the title character with her huge expressive eyes and quiet,aloof but loving manner.
I didnt even recognize Linus Roache as the insane and sadistic cult leader......wow
Great cameo by Bill Duke
This movie has all the great ingredients of a revenge flick but blend in an acid trip,that married a few issues of Heavy Metal !!
Director Panos Cosmatos paints an amazing iterpretation of what goes on in the minds eye and subconciousness after a harrowing experience all blended with mesmerizing visuals and symbolism.
I loved how this film can be interpreted in so many ways.
The late great Johann Johannson once again composed a score that fits perfectly with the dread and exhilirating moments happening on the screen.
Be warned this film is ultra violent at times and the gore is not for the faint of heart.

PROBLEMS: Over the top campiness around the edges,and a few drawn out moments

I should have had a few beers while watching this,i know it would have enhanced the experience.
I think the last time i drank or got high while watching a movie was years ago when i was watching Natural Born Killers.I've been told i was running around the house screaming : It's not real !! IT'S NOT REAL !! ....ahh the good old days
