But that's the point.

I'm glad for you if you enjoy it.

Farmers do not enjoy it. Exposed animals do not enjoy it. Commuters on the tube do not enjoy it.

My mum is 92 and has a heart condition. She has difficulty breathing at the best of times. So she certainly does not enjoy this and I am having real issues dealing with it.

All I am asking is for you be less gung ho and recognise that the heat does bring real problems for some. You are entitled to your opinion but please do not be so dismissive of alternative views.

of course I realize that it's not all good, and I'm really sorry for your mum. Last year up here in Scotland was the wettest summer and autumn for 32 years, and that was a real disaster for farmers ,if I sounded gung-ho or dismissive well I didn't mean to , but hey it's the internet

Do we really want or need bicycles operating in the middle of the street with cars? Picture driving on a street where the speed limit is 40 MPH and some fool on a bicycle pedaling his ass off is trying to keep up, or being stuck behind some bicyclist clown who cannot. Then we would be getting into some serious road rage!
Welcome to California, where this is an all too common occurrence. And, yes, bicyclists are occasionally killed in road rage incidents.

BTW, wanna be Tour de Francers being struck and killed does not annoy me at all, but I brake rather than make auto repairs.

Evidence that anyone with no talent, a shitty personality, can go to Hollywood and become famous.

I even got pulled over by a cop for not stopping for a little old lady who was not in the crosswalk, but merely standing by the side of the road, presumably waiting for me to pass.

I didn't get a ticket, but honestly I never saw her, because the road I was driving on is a notorious speed trap, and I was diligently checking that I was staying under the (very slow) speed limit.
Here in my town/State it is also a law that vehicles must stop to let pedestrians cross in a crosswalk.
What irks me about that law is that some pedestrians take advantage of it -- they just begin crossing without looking at all figuring the car will/must stop, or begin crossing when you (the vehicle) are 4-5 yards from the crosswalk and you must slam on the brakes and hope you don't get rear ended.

Bike riders have the misconception notion that they have the same rights as pedestrians, which they don't, and I think that is why there are so many incidents between bicyclists and cars.

Earlier today, I was shopping in an M&S food store and following me around was a young bloke and his girlfriend. His main interest seemed to be placing his basket on the floor and literally hurling items into it from as far away as possible. Some of this stuff actually went back onto the shelves if she didn't like it (undoubtedly damaged). Why is it that some men (not usually women) seem to feel they must continually throw things down (generally) after use? Tools in a garage, expensive phones onto worktops, spoons used for stirring coffee, remote controls onto coffee tables? Well, maybe it's just me, becoming a picky, sad old fart. Who knows?

He was either acting like a basketball player doing practice shots, a wanna-be basketball player, or just a jerk!

Another here is gone, some of you from overseas might have heard of Dick Smith, started and owned and then sold an electronics company that failed in the end, none of it his doing.

19 years ago he started a food company that uses our own farmers produce only to support local industry, all profits also from the business went to charity .... today after 19 years, it's been announced it's closing, a big part of the reason is it cannot compete with foreign owned Aldi

I don't blame Aldi, I blame us for failing to support as much as possible our own for the sake of a few dollars a week

BTW, we don't shop at Aldi , cheap crap ..... and for those from Europe, Aldi here haven't got the same, but is similar product line, I think ours is pure cheap garbage.
That's typical neoliberalism promotted by Thatcher and Reagan.
That's the worst side of Capitalism.

Yesterday I spoke with a fruit distributor.
Swiss raspberries producers had an excess of productions on last year.
They made a puree of their raspeberries and stocked them in freezers, thinking that Swiss ice makers will buy them for 24 $ / kg.
But Swiss ice makers didn't buy their stocks... because Chilean raspeberries puree cost 6 $ / kg.
So Swiss ice makers bought Chilean stocks.

Marvelous globalization and free market.

By the way... We'll see how Amazon will destroy European (and maybe Australian) distributors and local shops in a recent future.
In the city of Lausanne, retailers shop close everyday.

Oil is sold too cheap.
Amazon sells products very cheap because they exploit their workers and shortcut the classical distribution ways thanks to very low price of energy.

The global (social and environmental) collapse is not that far.
Too many lamps are red or orange. That's just a question of time.

What annoys me the most ?

People who just cannot stop and smell the roses
Hate it when I came across someone who is always negative, incapable of having fun and drag others down with them

Fuck me just get someone to pull their finger, let one rip for once I say or once an hour

Irresponsible people who don't calculate the consequences of their irresponsibility and then blame others when they are themselves the principal cause of troubles.
