Default Malware Warning!

Had the same problem, hopefully it'll get sorted. Norton just told me that my laptop was ok!

I'm getting the same warnings with some images only, even from a single post. I'm using FF 27.01 - AB Plus - Avast free and ignore the warnings to access the images.

*** I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE ELSE DOING THIS ***

After downloading images I've checked my machine with adwcleaner, JRT and SpyBot. Also run a scan of the folder containing the d/l images with Avast.

All results show no infection ... so far.

No problems at all here......

I'd recommend anyone using Norton to dump it.

I've had a reply,

Yes, we are aware of the problem.

We are trying to solve this by contacting google to review our site and give us green light. We probably had some advertiser in rotation that google deemed to be malware.

We are working to solve this.

Hi,

I've been using Imagevenue for a while now but lately it has become impossible to view images that have been posted on your servers. Clicking the link redirects you to a "reported attack page" try clicking this link for an example,

Are you aware that this is happening? Any idea why it is happening?

Thank you

Looks like that was the problem, hijacked/infected advertisements. I would still urge caution though. If you're using either Chrome or Firefox get a no script and advert block plug-in (Noscript and Adblock Plus respectively for FF). They'll stop any of those adverts and pop-ups/unders that may be infected with drive-by trojans from appearing in the first place, creating a first line of defense.

In the meantime it looks like Imagevenue has got itself removed from the blacklist so images are should all now be accessable again.

Nothing wrong with Norton these days. It's not the awful bloatware that it used to be 4 years ago.

firefox prevents the opening of the image and the invasion of virus.

It is preferable not to post with imgevenue.

I checked and all urls are accessible without virus. The problem seems to be over.

I concur, the original image reported to us now opens without any warning (for me, at least)

For future reference if the ugly warning appears again on any site and you want a

I didn't see mention there of making sure you are a User, not Administrator, to block malware? What do the Experts here think of the value of that?

My experience the w/ Chrome alert on i-ven, it was pretty clear the bug was not in the file pic i clicked for, or i-ven's hosting per se, but the poop up ad. Chrome ID'd the suspect site and it was one of those forgettable name w/ "ad" in it, unfortunately I did not cap. This is about what advertisers i-ven or any host allows into their house. OC they have the responsibility, but they are not creating the ads, and they are after $$. Do they check them?
