To be honest I rather like to remember Ms Houston from the 1980s

I preferred Dee C. Lee & Cherelle at the time, but I thought Whitney's voice at her peak was electrifying. Sadly everyone will remember Whitney for all the wrong reasons now, as a cautionary tale on fame...
