Still have the same problem(s). By wandering around their web site I was able to find my account status. I have an ACCESS account paid up for a year (12/15/2016 - 12/15/2017).
I received a reply from 1fichier that basically repeated what they already had said using more words. They said again that I should do a speed test using their network. Specifically - "Not a "speedtest" somewhere on the planet. On our website, from our network." I was never able to find out how to do that. The big question in my mind is still why has the download speed changed from the download speed my ISP provides (about 1.5 Mbps) which I experienced in the past months to a download speed that varies between 60 and 30 Kips from the day I signed-up for an ACCESS account. As far as I know, nothing else has changed. I feel like I've taken enough of your (Jenny and other VEF posters) with this problem so I guess I'm going to write it off as a failed project. Since I'm signed up for a year, I'll use a 1fichier link with JD2 only when I can't find a link to another host and I really want to get a particular file. For the most part downloading these files is just a fun thing to do, certainly "not a matter of life or death" Many thanks again to Jenny et al for your efforts trying to help me. Tryvek |

In Windows, go to 'Run' in start menu, type 'CMD' and then 'ping www.1fichier.com'. It will give you an idea of the connection. My 4-5ms is about as fast as it gets.

It's difficult to stop trying to get things to work as they did once (fix the problem).
So, when I had a few moments I tried the following - 1. Signed on to my 1fichier ACCESS account. 2. Copy a 1fichier download link from VEF to my clip board. 3. Bring up a new tab in my browser. 4. Paste & Go the 1fichier link from my clip board. 5. Went through the steps on the 1fichier download link page. 7. Clicked on Start Download. 8. Download started via the built-in browser download client. 6. Measured download speed ran at 160 Kips My "problem" seems to be JD2 or possibly the way I am using it. Go figure. |

I pay for the slowest download speed my ISP offers. 1.5 Mbs, and 160 Kb/s is about the fastest I see when doing a download.
So, not using JD2 for 1fichier downloads seems to be the situation. Downloads from other hosts have never seemed to be effected using JD2. Is there another download client that you would recommend that I could try? After all the months I've been using JD2 it's got me out of the routine of doing it "manually." JD2 is particularly useful for doing my Midnight to 6 AM downloading. I can set it up to run on a number of links while I'm sleeping. I'm going to be losing a lot of sleep having to do it manually for the 1fichier links. |

My experience with 1fichier in recent days would seem to suggest their service is now effectively unusable for anyone without an account.
