Imagegrabber works fine for me, but when trying to download single pics they sometimes don't load completely. All in all I must agree and I try to avoid that site.

RagingBuddhist,
I'm not a fan of ImageBam but I've not had any of those type of problems. I think they don't like me as I use Firefox with NoScript and Adblock + so all I get is a box saying "NoScript detected..." so I don't see any of their ads. But their pix still show. Using Image Host Grabber is a pain though. Try using Firefox with those two extensions and I'm sure you'll have a different experience. |

While I understand Buddist's problem with ImageBam, the sad fact is that every image host has something about it that someone is going to really hate. As it stands now ImageBam is one of only two hosts that I personally consider viable to use here so, even though I don't use it, I'd be reluctant to ban it. Just my opinion.
(You could also try just turning your speakers down when surfing the net. Just saying.)

Sometimes i have to use dial up, try using imagebam with that,
makes posting almost impossible, for myself it's by far the worst of the lot

Firefox, NoScript and Adblock kept Imagebam clean for me so far.
Normally when I visit VEF to upload and download something I have my speakers off. I turn them just on for playing games or hearing/editing music. So I never noticed that my uploaded pictures could bring down the walls of Jericho... Sorry for the possible noise pollution! Last edited by Leprechaun; March 6th, 2009 at 10:32 AM.. |

Dial up upload is a maximum theoretical 7kbs (although to get a full 7k is near impossible due to the compression overhead) So you`ll be lucky to achieve more than 3kbs a second

My place out in the bush has no broadband coverage so my only option is to use dial up when staying there. But i have found that with imagevenue dial up will work ok, but with imagebam it will stall. However when staying in the city i use mobile broadband and imagebam is ok, thats just my particular case

I also noticed that imagebam has undergone some major changes ... not for the best imo ... first i had script allowed on imagebam till lately they started using a "shield" on adult content expecting you to click that "yes i'm aware that its adult and yes thats what i want to see" before the shield is lifted. Realy gone downhill and i can understand that with a open browser it must be getting a terrible site. For me it still works and also my BID downloader manages to grab what i want. Shame that imagebam gets more intrusive with adds, i understand that they need to keep things going but it could be done in a more tastefull way.
Imagevenue has been the more constant and stable imagehost, i also preffer using it. |

Well, the changes might not have been the best one...but as far as I am concerned, I like the more comfortable upload-tools and better image-arrangement compared to I*venue. And as for grabbing the pics via ImagehostGrabber in one go, I donīt have any problems with I*bam ( you needed to make some corrections in the settings to make it work, but these modifications have already been discussed in another thread here at VEF )
