That guy had no consideration at all for his neighbors. 7.62x39 123 grain bullet traveling at 2300 feet per second will go through several houses, putting all of his neighbors at risk. A 9mm bullet travels at half that velocity and still is a risk to neighbors. Shotguns are the usual home defense weapon that lowers risk to the nearby.

I will say for the shooter that he was prepared and he had good aim. Makes me think 1 AM was within his normal work hours.

I think diamelsx (wonder what that really means??) is pretty right on. 5 armed men don't hit a building with nothing but robbery on their mind.
Drug deal gone wrong, drug dealing competitors, don't know but that is my limited thoughts on it.

Just don't think a shotgun would have ended in the same results though. It could well be he just did a spray and pray which you can't do with an aim (at least in the general direction) and shoot shotgun.
Not only that but if , as I suspect, drugs were involved to some extent at least he really wouldn't care about innocent neighbors, even kids getting hurt or killed.

I don't know. I would love to see the ballistics report to see if all the Slugs that hit we're from the homeowner's gun. Five Guys sent to the home to get one guy and none of those guys can hit him? There is a possibility there was more guys with heat there that are not being accounted for.

That is more in 2/3rds of a month than all the murders in San Jose, Oakland and San Francisco in 2018 (141).

The term I'm thinking of here is "power vacuum." Happened in Iraq, happens in US hoods all the time. The top dog is taken out and when the other contenders fight it out to take the throne the body counts rise as a result.

The question you got to ask yourself is "Would I rather be an illegal alien or another dead man?" and if you got a spouse and kids on top of that it makes that question even harder.
