Tops for me is KISS in 1996 in Atlanta. I bought second row tickets from a ticket agency. Since I didn't get to see the original lineup the first time around this was going to be as good at it gets. I ended up catching a pick from Ace. I could have died right then and there and been very happy. Metallica 1991 in Nashville, TN on the Black Album Tour. That was the loudest show I've been to since 1984 when I saw Van Halen with David Lee Roth. Metallica were at their all time highest point on that tour. Clash of the Titans tour 1991 in Atlanta, GA. This was Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Alice In Chains on the same bill. Dave you're right about the opening of "Raining Blood". It just send shivers up your spine and then it gets ripped out when the song launches. White Zombie with Pantera opening sometime about 1995 I think in Nashville, TN. This was one of my most frightening concert experiences. It was at an outdoor amphitheater and the crowd had been worked into a frenzy by Pantera. Rob Zombie wanted the crowd to get more involved and the seats were bolted into the concrete. People were trying to mosh even towards the back of the fixed seats where I was. Fires were going up on the grass hillside. Ozzfest 2004 in Nashville, TN. Slayer and Judas Priest were on the bill and I hadn't seen Priest since 1992. I knew I was sitting up front and couldn't wait for Priest to come out. Slayer was their usual no holds barred, full throttled thrash. But Priest were awesome. The bad thing was that their setlist was short because this was a festival show and they only had an hour or so. I left after they were through and didn't even stay for Ozzy. Marilyn Manson at another Ozzfest in Atlanta is one that surprised me. I ended up liking him much more than before when I had just heard his music and watched his videos. Quite the showman. I've probably been to nearly 50 concerts in my life and these were just a few that stood out but many, many more were also very great.

Share your concert ticket collection/concert experiences
Hey all welcome! This thread is to share ,discuss and maybe even brag about the shows you have been to.Relate your past experiences at concerts, venues, meeting musicians, parking lot tailgating before & after shows and anything concert related.Rock,Metal, country whatever.
Scan your tickets, back stage passes, autographs and post them. My first show was in Nurnberg West Germany then at Hemmerleinhalle to see Ozzy and Y&T.I was 19 and had been stationed in Bamberg on one week before what a night.Ozzy put on great show but he's Ozzy so it's always good.Ozzy-(Bark at the Moon Tour) Y&T (In Rock We Trust Tour) Next was Blue Osyster Cult & Aldo Nova at Hemmerleinhalle 24 Jan 1984 BOC (Revolution By Night Tour) 14 Feb 1984 I saw Judas Priest & Ted Nugent,Nugent had Brian Howe singing for him then.Howe was the voice of Bad company filling in for Paul Rodgers. It was another great show.Priest as always just kicked ass. Juads Priest (Defenders Of The Faith Tour) Ted Nugent (Penetrator Tour) I'm gonna stop her for now and see how it goes, before I post anymore shows I have been witness to.

Show us your stumps !
Good job i didn't start this thread - that title could have disappointed a few
Most recent i went to was "Adam Ant & The Mad & Lovely Posse" I gave an account of the night on another thread, http://www.vintage-erotica-forum.com...=good+concerts (which is also where i borrowed back the scan of the ticket from ) I have loads (in various conditions) some autographed, and Tornado is right - there's always memories attached but mostly mine would be from the mid-eighties. - I'll dig some out for a scan & an airing |

I'm waiting to see Killing Joke. Other brilliant gig experiences I've seen have to be Muse, BB King, Front 242, Gary Numan, The The, Nitzer Ebb (Supporting Erasure), Bauhaus, Kraftwerk. There are many more that I can't think of! I did fall asleep at a Meatloaf gig at Birmingham Odeon (Honest!) and I did think The Mars Volta were a bit bizarre.

First gig? Sky. Strange things at a gig? Taking the ex to see a certain R.Astley at the NEC and being surrounded by all these little girls with their mothers whilst I stand there with eight bottles of beer by me and smoking a pack of Marlboro. That felt surreal to me. Oh, and possibly being the only person in the whole of the NEC wearing a KMFDM band T-Shirt.

My last one.
Yes Norbert84, this was my last concert.
But I have seen them all, Pink Floyd, ELO, AC/DC, Police, BTO, Kate Bush, etc., except Queen, which I regret. tomesing Sorry, had forgotten, Aachen, Katschhof 2000, Open Air, Alanis Morissette. But this was the last one. tomesing Last edited by tomesing; November 10th, 2011 at 12:29 PM.. |

Aerosmith opening for Black Sabbath, MSG 1977, maybe.
Aerosmith was loud. Sabbath was . . .late . . .and then loud, loud, loud. Remember at breakfast the next day, could barely hear a thing. Music? Who knows. I remember that it was so loud that we thought we could feel the opening chords of "Iron Man" in our innards. Interesting career bookend concert: Grand Ol' Opry, a few years back. It was one of Porter Wagoner's last appearances on the Opry, and one of Taylor Swift's first (I had no idea who she was at the time-- but the kids certainly loved her). The Opry is unusual that way, you have folks your kids listen to, and folks your Dad listened to on the same stage. |
