What was I thinking?
Kansas City at Oakland - Mixed emotions -Delight at the way the Raiders pulled out and "My week is off to a bad start again." Hey, KC, it's not over until it's over.
Carolina at Chicago - Cam Newton's erratic play makes every Carolina game a crap shoot. New Orleans at Green Bay - Saints surprised me by playing well in the cold. Arizona at LA Rams - Should have known that the younger team would handle the long trip better. Jared Goff is coming of age. Carson Palmer hurt and MIA again. Dallas at San Francisco - Sloppy, missed seeing the Elliot injunction & misled by the Niners near misses in the previous three games. The NY Giants at home is best chance for SF to avoid 0-16. At least its better than last week. |

Switching to the NBA
Not surprised by the Warriors start. Besides the subtle effects of age, maintaining the focus and intensity necessary to win championships is difficult. This is what makes Bill Russell's Celtics so extraordinary. Steve Kerr is ragging on players about their conditioning. Nick Young may prove to be more disruptive than helpful. I am disturbed by Jerry West's comments that he was forced out in Oakland and the Young signing. Much of the chemistry came from character and camaraderie. Bringing in a selfish and lazy player is not a good sign.
On the other hand, who can knock them off? Many of the candidates loaded up on declining and set-in-their-ways stars. Minnesota may be worth a speculative bet. Vegas has them at 33 to 1. The Clippers are at 125 to 1, Memphis at 250 to 1. Any of those teams could win it with a lot of luck and motivation. |

Here's where we are. cc and laughingboy are tied with 12-2 records going into MNF. Both picked Philly, so it's down to points. cc has 51 points and laughingboy 49, so it could be a squeaker.

Answer: Cam Newton threw 0 TD passes, lost a fumble, and threw 2 interceptions against the Bears. Newton has thrown 1 TD pass and 8 interceptions in the Panthers 3 losses. I don't know ultimatewarlord's sources. Cam's astrological chart? Tips from a drug dealer? I wish I had them, as does Ron Rivera. |

Look bro. I'm not into your Cam hatin', ok?
Against Philly. Interceptions were tipped, one really stupid play from Jonathan Stewart that even made me laugh, and a miscommunication. Most panther fans seem to blame the play calling. Leave Cam alone!!! |
