Gideon's Day - an old 50s British film starring Jack Hawkins.
Rather good in its way - supposed to be a typical day in the life of a Scotland Yard inspector as he smashes a crime ring, locates an escaped psychopath, and find a husband for his daughter (Anna Massey in her first film). Some great location work around London - it all looks so different. A lost world.

To Sir with Love is the movie I'm watching right now. Didn't know that Sidney Poitier was teaching the "unruly" Brit kids in this one. Damn good so far.

Rush : Beyond the Lighted Stage - 2010
"An in-depth look at the Canadian rock band Rush, chronicling the band's musical
evolution from their progressive rock sound of the '70s to their current heavy rock style. The film made its debut at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival, where it earned the 2010 Audience Award. A limited theatrical run began on June 10, 2010 and the film was released on DVD in the US and Canada on June 29 of that year." excellent documentary about one of the best, and most underrated bands of all time. if you're a Rush-head, like me, you've got to see it!! trailer - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sk8hbSxY0sE |

I gave it a try but it was a true disappointment - especially after seeing the first one. Clearly made for commercial purposes only. I stopped watching half way through. IMO, don't waste your time with this one.

The first one wasn't a patch on the original.

Watching "V for Vendetta" again (thanks WATCH +1)
Still don't think it's a patch on the original "Warrior" comic, but the message still holds (especially after the expenses scam): People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.

The Vikings (1958) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052365/
Richard Frleischer's 1958 classic adventure romp with Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis, Ernest Borgnine and Janet Leigh. One of my childhood favourites and still great. |
