Today's drink is from Austria: Grieskirchner Weisse Austrian Premium Beer is a golden colored wheat beer with an alcohol content of 5.1%. Gives quite a good head that disappears quickly leaving a lot of carbonation. Typical taste of bananas and cloves. Nice mouth feel when it goes down. Good overall. |

Today's drink is Altenmunster Maibock from Germany. This is an unusual German bock beer, because it has an amber color instead of brownish like most bock beers that I have had. Alcohol content 7.5%. Produces a thick head that disappears quickly. Very little carbonation. Tastes of honey, vanilla, clove and toffee. Good taste overall. |

I was watching Chopped on Food Network last night and one of the episodes had the theme of wings and whiskey, so I had to have a little scotch to go with the show.

I have a cold so asked wife if I'm allowed to drink a whiskey on account of it being medicinal. She said no. Asked if I'm allowed to smoke a cigarette instead. She said no to that too. So I guess, water.
Sigh. |

Tell Mrs rosestone that Dr Schaffner has prescribed Whiskey for you
"The classic hot toddy, typically made of whiskey, honey, lemon juice and hot water, can subdue the injustices of your inevitable winter cold. The hot water of the toddy helps to relieve nasal congestion. And the whiskey helps with sniffle issues, too. “The alcohol dilates blood vessels a little bit, and that makes it easier for your mucus membranes to deal with the infection,” Dr. William Schaffner, chair of preventive medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, told ABC News."

Today's drink is Young's Special London Ale from England. This is an ale with a light copper color, but not quite clear. Produces a thick creamy head that lasts and lasts. Alcohol content 6.4%. Every time I take a drink I get a different taste;caramel, fruity, citrus, and it has an astringent aftertaste. Very good overall. |
