Hostiles

Not a fan of Mr Bale, but thoroughly enjoyed this offering, so much so I watched it twice.

UPGRADE

Grey Trace a stay-at-home mechanic wife Asha is murdered and he is left paralyzed after being attacked.Grey is upgraded with new tech that is inserted in his spinal column and attempts to track down the killers.

I thought Tom Hardy Jr......i mean Logan Marshall-Green did well as Grey ,he showed all the right amounts of raw emotion and pain.
Harrison Gilbertson as Eron Keen an eccentric tech innovator did well also.
Betty Gabriel as Detective Cortez also turned in a fine performance.
The villains were a mixed bag of mence but definitely serviceable.

The action sequences were fun ad well choreographed, some good kills and great cinemaphotagraphy from Stefan Duscio
I dont think i have ever watched a movie that had a couple of predictable moments that lead to a couple of unpredictable moments.A movie with plotholes that are actually filled and explained away !!

The film borrows from so many well known Sci Fi films and comic books ,to many to list here plus it may lead to spoilers.

So some of Upgrade is old hat but i admire the structure of the film and now im realizing seeds were planted throughout the film about what would be it's final outcome.

Scale of 1-10 an 8

Bet unlike me you didn't keep searching around for a version that subtitled the Cheyennes though

Butt enough of my adorable (Some might say ) stupidity

This ,

Has two actors I like and that helped. Given the period pisses me off no end as believe several thousand certain banker`s corpses , should be still swaying under countless tree branches
Butt I digest and back to the film
Dennis Nash`s (Andrew Garfield) family home is foreclosed upon by merciless real estate operator Rick Carver (Michael Shannon). Before you know it and in a believable way Dennis finds himself working for Rick. Learning the real life corruptions and lies which occurred during the bastard banking crisis. Not that they aren't happening this very second I`m sure.
Basis of the story is will Dennis Nash ultimately lose everything , despite seemingly gaining everything he wished for ?.
I ain't telling

Here ,

We've Sawyer Valentini (Claire Foy) who after being forced to relocate due to a stalker finds herself seriously troubled by conflicting emotions. That leads her to consult with a therapist for a single session. After which she (Oh boy) unwittingly signs in for a voluntary 24-hour commitment to the Highland Creek Behavioral Center.
From there on in the top notch tension fun really starts

Smile Uplifting also , as in never fully accept reality if it comes between you and dreams that keep you going

Uplifting ,

Best sums this comedy drama about a possibly totally one hundred percent (Yet immensely likeable) certifiable hopeless hapless father , Charlie (Michael Douglas). Who upon his release from a mental institution goes to connect (Not reconnect) with his estranged daughter Miranda (Evan Rachel Wood). Oh and by connect I mean rope her into a fanciful tale of lost gold doubloons treasure finding.

If you like truly kooky but utterly perfectly acted films which leave you with a bittersweet yet soul warming feeling inside.

Then you won't fail to enjoy this enchanting underrated beauty

Sorry to say that I really disliked this movie. I thought it was tedious and predictable with characters I didn't like at all. Not for me, but I do know people who thought is was good, so there's probably no accounting for my taste :-)

Brooklyn. The story of a young Irishwoman who migrates to American on her own, gets a job, makes friends, meets a nice Italiano boy and then has to go back to Ireland when her sister dies. Once there she has to decide where her future lies.
I know what you're thinking and I though the same thing when my wife read it out, but it was really good. Great production values, great acting and a heartwarming story with just a hint of pathos.
