pixhost.to is the only site which seems to have a real API and also allows large image uploads. I skipped even checking sites that limit a single digit MB per image, with the caveat I did check pixxxels because 8 is close enough. Most of my galleries average image is around 2 MB, but I have some UBER high res ones have around 10 MB. My negative with pixhost is that there is no account, so I can't manage the galleries after the fact. Nor could I delete a gallery if I choose to. The other problem is that I can't find any contact resource except for abuse. If we think we had little time from imagebam, do you think we're going to get any warning from a site that you can't contact if they decide to shut up shop?

I have been using PiXhost for a couple of days and so far so good. You should use the "create a gallery" option (which creates links) when posting so that others can easily move from one image to another if they want to see them full size.
I hope that PiXhost doesn't go toes up. I may mix in another host or two so I don't lose thousands of posts again. I hope that my experiences help others. |

Am I correct that you tested pixhost, pixxels, ImgBB and turboimagehost? But only pixhost has the API-option. Pimpandhost, imagevenue and hotflick we don't know, as you didn't test it. |

Turboimagehost seems to be down since yesterday. I always end up with the same message of failure.

ImageVenue
When I uploaded my files to ImageBam I never had a problem to use a proxy server in order to remain anonymous. It seems that ImageVenue (tutorial here) doesn't work just as well. By using the option "Create a gallery" my pics were uploaded smoothly (message: "upload complete") but then the procedure stalls, and no download links show up, page is still loading endlessly.
Uploading without using proxy (all other browser settings are still the same) doesn't cause any issue though. Tested with latest versions of Firefox and Palemoon and several proxy servers from different countries. Has anybody an idea how to solve that problem? Enabling
I hesitate to reupload my own posts myself for the time being, and I'm focused instead on saving other posts that might get lost soon.

Imagevenue
I made a testupload to imagevenue using ExpressVPN (not a proxy) and it works fine.
Browser: Firefox 54.0 See the results here: http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/showpost.php?p=4069624

I just spent a good half hour or so loading then uploading a huge hi-res post to hotflick...when the last one finished, I got the message "dir not found!!" (2 exclamation points which I did not appreciate).
Never had that happen anywhere else. Not so sure about this host right now. |

Another thing I thought about was gallery limits. Imagebam had a 500 image limit to their galleries. Has anyone discovered any limits to any of these other hosts? I was planning to test pixhost at some point as I figure out how I'm going to call the api.

Just started a download of all images in my imagebam account. Split the list of 16000 galleries over 9 different scripts to multithread. Only took about a minute before I had a GB of images done. Some of the older galleries have 404 errors on the download links, so I may have to run the lists again just to see if it's a transient error, or if they're gone.
Just a question of mine, but how many images are others having to resuce? According to my database I have 2938594 to pull.
