Guardami. But it is in Italian so I've no clue as to what was being discussed. Does anyone know if there is an English dubbed, or subtitled version anywhere?

Watched "Kilo 2 Bravo" (2014) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kajaki_(film) Grenn from Game of Thrones is in it, didn't recognize anyone else. English Paras established a small outpost in Afghanistan near the Kajaki dam. While taking a short hike to set up an ambush position, three of them wander into an old Soviet minefield (PMN type I guess) from the 80's - so I guess they can survive 30 odd years of being in the ground. No bouncing Betty types. The Brits make mention of the fact that the Soviets left 10 million mines in Afghanistan earlier and a friendly three legged dog also underlines the dangers out there waiting for them. The efforts to go rescue them lead to more of them setting off other mines. Not pretty, graphic injuries shown, kinda expected some Public Service advert with Princess Diana to be shown at the end of the film. The movie got good reviews, but it was just depressing to me to see our Allies get blown up in a country where I don't see a successful long term end game.

I watched "The Heavy Water War" (2015) A Norwegian 3 dvd 6 episode production. Wiki says 45 minutes - which may be per episode. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Heavy_Water_War The German scientist, the Norwegians and the Brits are the main characters. I didn't recognize any of them.
It is basically "The Heroes of Telemark" (1965) without Kirk Douglas. Honestly not sure, as I watched that as a little kid and don't remember it - but glancing at the Wiki - it seemed similar in outline form. This multi disk effort ain't bad. I would have thought I would remember that 41 Brit Commandos die in the initial effort, so that was a surprise to me. Bad weather screw up caused gliders to crash. A German Gestapo officer has to be the most moronic person in the show as he orders 14 captured English Commandos executed without even trying to interrogate them. Certainly the German Luftwaffe interrogators on other movies appear to be genius like compared to this clown who just has to follow Hitler's famous special forces order immediately. The Brits weren't even pulled away from their crashed glider. German efforts to find the inside sources in the Norwegian factory seem minimal at best. Not much in terms of combat, German ground security for a high priority target seems like shit. An OK story, the German atomic effort compared to what is depicted in "Fat Man & Little Boy" (1989) seems minuscule. Not sure why it got high ratings. I'd give it 2 of 5. I already knew most of the story, so maybe that is why I am so blase (have no keystroke for the accentuated s). |

Has anyone seen Bad Times at the El Royale (2018)?
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6628394/ It just looks like a bunch of movies we've all seen before. Strangers meet by chance in a hotel (or in a late night diner) and they all have secrets. How many times we seen that premise before? Like Identity (2003 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0309698/) or the recent Hotel Artemis or even this genre: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls066670465/ |

John English Strikes Again. Not as good as the first but better than the second and better than I was expecting it to be. A steady steam of pleasant chuckles and funny pratfalls.
