Good day guys. Just another heads up about IHG for those that may be experiencing problems. They've moved all of their update, and support forums to
hot-honeys. Initially, I thought this was bullshit, but it is the real deal. You need to download the new version that reflects the new host location from here. Updated mine this morning with no issues on a slightly older version of FF.

Concur with Boatguy. I found this too. Tried downloading with IHG and it gave me a notice instead of the pic file with directions to upgrade FF or change host server. Easy instructions on hot-honeys. I changed host server instead of updating FF. Downloads all working well. |

Thanks for the tips in this thread, IHG is still the best ripping tool for my purposes so here's my lo-tech method that seems to keep it running. I have Firefox 42 or 43 and ignore alerts that want me to update it. When I start FF I open the Add-ons and it usually tells me that IHG is incompatible so I remove/uninstall it. Then I simply search for IHG again and DL, once complete I restart FF and voila! IHG is back in action. I leave my FF window open on the taskbar for as long as possible. Whenever I have to close it, usually for a shutdown, if IHG doesn't work after starting FF I just do the process over again. Small inconvenience for keeping such a great tool available.
The other small downside is that the host file reverts to the last updated version they provided and all user changes are lost. Practically all hosts still work with the given protocols except for a couple big ones, Imgbox and SomeImage. Once you re-install the Add-on, use the Host File Editor to add these syntax codes for those sites: Code:
Host Label: ImageBox URL Pattern: http:\/\/imgbox\.com\/\w+ Search pattern: "class="image-content"" Code:
Host Label: someimage URL Pattern: ^https:\/\/someimage\.com\/(?!login|abuse|tos)?\w+$ Search Pattern: "ID: viewimage"

Sound like something is wrong with your Firefox installation!?
Reinstalling Addons everytime I start my browser definitely isn't the way to go. Have you tried my solution a few posts above and/or reinstalling FF 42? Btw. if you want to get rid of the Update Notifications open about:config and search for app.update.auto app.update.enabled app.update.silent and set all to "false". Then open explorer and enter "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Mozilla\updates" and clear that folder. Best J4ZZ

Or....you could just go to tools...options...advanced, and click "never check for updates".

Will only work as long as you don't click on Help -> About Firefox

When doing so, I see a static button asking me to check for updates. I.E., it's at my discretion.
