Short of having Crocodile Dundee give a 15 minute dissertation as a troupe of horn blowers blast away......dunno how much more obvious that check box could be, being directly below the button one has to click on to begin a download as a free user lol. I've said this about 15 times through out VEF, including at least once if not more in this thread. I personally downloaded that so called download manager, ran it through 4 different virus and malaware programs, and came up with nothing. It's nothing more than a way for FF to earn more money from the idiots that created it, and nuttin' else. It's a one time use thing, and doesn't actually do anything other than scare the bejeezus out of folks whose virus programs are set to go off when the wind blows. There's not a thing wrong with Norton, (other than being too expensive! lol) but it and any other virus program, would prefer that anyone that uses their product, yank their ethernet cables out of their modems, and not plug it back in until the time comes to re-up with them again lol Viruses are nasty critters, there's no doubt about that, but other than being annoying, that check box is nothing to be worried about, even if you do happen to accidentally download it. A few pointers on how to DL from FF with a few less hassles, would be: Sign up for a free account with them, and alot of those ads you've been seeing will disappear, as well as you picking up a few kbs in speed. If you're not keen on some site knowing your email address, create one somewhere else to use, the same as you probably did when joining VEF lol. Try using Jdownloader. It doesn't always work with FF, because the JD folks seem to have a problem figuring out the FF scripts and such. When JD does have them worked out though, you bypass having to even go to the FF website. Alot of FF users that upload to them, activate their traffic share there, which basically turns every free user into a premium downloader. Each premium member of FF, is allotted a certain amount of gigs per month for trafficshare, so when someone does activate it, it ends up getting used up pretty quickly. Someone's trafficshare allotment, resets at the beginning of each month, so the best time for free users wanting to dl a bunch of FF links, would be at the stroke of midnight, the morning of the 1st each month. If you're lucky, that person will have trafficshare turned on, and you can download the same as anyone that's been actually paying for their premium accounts, but only from whichever users have TF turned on though. Best hurry though when ya find some trafficshared links though, cause they use up real fast. My 100 gig allotment, usually only lasts a few hours if that when I flip my tf switch on. There's another trick or two you can do also, but my dinner's gettin' cold! Good luck Greenie |

I am a free member and I am experiencing problems with uploading rar movies files to FF. The file will load up to 99% then stop loading. I don't know why this should be ? Any ideas would be appreciated.

I stick with FTP, but as a free user that won't be an option for you.

I eventually solved the problem by using FTP - and haven't looked back since, but I believe that is not an option for free users. Sorry not to be more help!

I kinda glad to hear you guys are also having the 99% problem, makes me realise it wasn't just me!
Like I said, I stick with FTP, but it is slightly slower than HTTP POST. However, yesterday I posted a bunch of small files (the largest was 28 MB) by browser, and they all went through fine.
