Great game Liverpool last night against Red Star Belgrade and star of the show Mo Salah for his 50. Cardiff City next. Radio 5live really need to rid of that bloody idiot Dion Dublin, he spends half his time laughing at virtually nothing or Alan Green's stupid comments. It ruins the whole commentary and too many digressions spoil it for the listener. And while we're at it could they please stop staying "look at that" we can't look, its radio dummies!

Indeed - allegedly, part of the Manchester-Liverpool mutual loathing stems from the period where MUFC were generally underachieving whilst LFC were conquering Europe, yet the media would still give the column inch count to Old Trafford. Maybe they did better pies? The Grauniad has always been seen as a MU fanzine...whereas I thought The Express etc were designed purely to spread the Tottenham gospel. I think Spurs and MU have always punched above their weight in column inches even at times when silverware was elusive.
I suppose if it sells papers it's headline news, whatever the relative merit might be?

Meanwhile, back in the Championship, Leeds go top, as Hernandez returns from injury - with him, they look like a team capable of winning, without him, one likely not to. Last night saw a very comfortable 2-0 home victory over Ipswich - yes Leeds were on the telly again, and will be yet again at the weekend .
Ipswich supporters must epitomise the 'careful what you wish for' syndrome: Mick McCarthy was given all sorts of abuse for churning out dull performances last season, whilst protesting that he was doing the best he could with the resources the club could offer. He went and now they are rooted to the foot of the table, easy pickings for anyone.
Elsewhere WBA missed the chance to go top when they surprisingly got severely found out at home to a free flowing rampant Derby (yes, stuttering Derby) side. It's an odd divison, lacking in a bit of quality, but fascinating to follow...

Just to remind Ipswich fans of the old saying: Be careful what you wish for. Was Mick McCarthy really that bad?

I am not sure that Neil Warnock should be saying that Cardiff City can't beat Liverpool-he obviously doesn't remember the last time that Cardiff City knocked Liverpool out of two different trophies once, so I think they can be a dangerous team when they want to be...but we do have three of the best strikers around so I am not expecting an upset but you never know-Wolves beat United. Nothing is ever certain.

Default CHAMPIONSHIP

16,000 + spectators for a Friday night TV match.

Much as I hate to say it, the 'Brolly-with-the-Wally' has actually done something after the RRRR's disastrous start this season.
And the vile, although they lost 1-0 I've never seen such commitment from them in ages.... and yes, I do watch them on the Interweb... like I read the Telegraph

Paul Lambert, him of ex-Norwich takes over at Ipswich

Worst Choice EVER ~ imo ~ the Tractor Boys must be loving that.
Possibly the most sacked/resigned by mutual consent excuse for a Manager in the last 30 years. ~ imo.

Marcus Evans had too much coke ? ? ? ....cos he shirley ain't on Champagne anymore. And he's richer than the 'Dildo-Brothers'

Little wonder any out of fashion clubs whose hey day was in the 70s/80s with no name managers doing well today get largely ignored.

The current generation are probably the first to start following star players and not clubs
