With out going into a history lesson, I would agree with Dr Pepper, to see McGuiness, Paisley and others across the divide, working together and actually appearing to get on quite well, should be a lesson to all, I have met many on both sides of both divide and border, and am proud to number amongst friends many Irishmen and Women, and to be honest I do not give a fig about their particular religious or political beliefs. I enjoy there wise and witty conversation, their oft understated wisdom and understanding of complex world issues, and this to me is where we should all begin.
As for the President, I made a crack about his attending every home match in Dublin on another thread, he does not only attend those games, he also attends the wet and soggy, non glamorous stadiums where the Irish u20 or second string and even the Ladies are playing their games, which I hasten to add, I have never seen any other Head of State do!
