(July 4, 1904 - September 9, 1969) Catherine Moylan performed in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1927 and in Ziegfeld's 1928-1929 Broadway production of Whoopee.

"Catherine Moylan, a Texan who defeated Joan Blondell in the Miss Dallas pageant and then went on to win the Miss Universe title, was one of Ziegfeld’s glorified girls throughout the latter 1920s, adorning the stage in a number of revues, most notably Whoopee in 1929. Noting the success in movies of her pageant runner-up, Moylan departed for Hollywood in 1930 and immediately secured the part of a mannequin in “Our Blushing Brides.” This was followed up by the part of Martha, the snooty gal pal, in “Love in the Rough.” Failing to land roles other than as eye candy, she returned to home to Texas, married, and raised a family. A rather daring model for Alfred Cheney Johnston, she was not shy about dressing up or doing without dresses altogether." [David S. Shields]

Here is another sepia version of these images, along with a painted one. Of note, when I click on those two they do not open, most of the others before it do open, but not many of those after them. Also, the 4th post in the thread has picture removed notices.
