I've done it a couple of times.
It depends on the amount of non-text image data that is usable for repair to get a good result. I'd need to see the picture in question to see if I can help. |

At first glance I'd say the text to the left and right of Debbie can be removed relatively easy, I think that there's just enough areas of the couch fabric available to be able to do that.
There are 2 main problem areas : the magazine's title and banner at the top and the bar code at the bottom left corner. To remove them would require a major repair job and involve taking image data from other images where Debbie has a similar hairdo and stockings. To remove all text will require quite a bit of work. Seeing the image's size and quality my first reaction would be to leave it as is. |

Here is a basic fact I would point out b/c not first time for this question. To talk of "removing" text to clean a pic is already misleading, as if you will then see what was underneath originally! No! There is no photo editor can do that. That info was lost when the image file (or here, the mag cover) was created.
So "Removing" just leaves a hole, in white, for what you removed. It is exactly as if you painted it in white. Think addition, not subtraction. Why, as zorin, says you must always consider, How do I replace this text (or object)? PS: for any tyros who want to find out for themselves what is involved, the first step is to "select" the text or object you want to replace -- and only that!! All editors have selection tools and they have been improving a lot, but it is a laborious process. No magic wands! Then you can do your "removal", but your work as a "painter" is just beginning!
