Why do people use Imgclick?

It's a bloody nightmare! On my Win 8.1 PC it's a one way ticket to pop-up and pop-under Hell ( and Yes, I do have pop-up and Java blocking software installed ) and multiple pic grabbing add-ons like Image Host Grabber which normally work really well are almost crippled.

That's nothing though compared to trying to see a picture from imgclick on my iPad - click on the View Your Image or whatever it's labelled at your peril - it opens up the Apple App Store, diverts to betting shop sites, most of the time you never actually get to see the picture you want to see!

Really, what's the attraction?

Personally I'm for banning all cash imagehosts from VEF, but others might disagree.

My only recourse is if I realize they are using imgclick, I do not click on any more of their images and I most certainly DO NOT thank them.

It works fine for me using ImageHostGrabber. I also use Noscript and Adblock Plus. I'm using a desktop PC with a fast cable connection so I think this accounts for me not having as much trouble as some but I agree this host sucks. How it works for me is irrelavent, however because too many members are having problems with it. We've been discussing it amongst the staff and we're allowing it for now even though we've received numerous complaints. If it were soley up to me it would be banned.

i think imgclick should be banned. there is just one dude that's using it (loookirooki), and he actually has many many great posts, but i would never thank him....and i don't actually get any popups anymore, his posts made me get my ass in gear and install adblock plus for firefox...kills all popups....thanxxx loooki

I'm sure if imgclick was banned on VEF, lookirooki would just use another cash host. In the mean time I've added that member to my ignore list. I won't miss him because there are hundreds of wonderful contributors to VEF who don't see this forum as a money generating exercise.

Why are you useing imgclick, I am sick of redirections and bugs not only this but also viruses, this is not on. I thought we were all friends here!

Well now it appears each image requires a captcha & doesnt work with imagehostgrabber or jdownloader anymore

now imgclick checks whether you have adblock and refuses further access if you do; given the virus issues coming with the ads I think it's time to ban the thing
