Default Easy

Use a programme like VSO divxtoDVD & put many hours of movie onto One or more DVD's - or buy an external hardrive

Almost any burning program can be set to make a "data DVD".
[Nero is a popular burning program on PC's, Toast is popular on Macs]

This is nothing more than a 4.2 GB disk of data, and will give you the desired result.
[As opposed to ripping a commercial DVD to a DVD, which is an entirely different subject]

You will need a optical drive capable of writing DVD's in addition to CD's.
This optical drive might already be a part of your computer system, but if not you can buy an "external" model that connects via USB or Firewire.

Here is a link to the popular brand Lite-On that may give you more information:

Is there a way to .zip or .rar videos that span more than one data cd?? I remember back in the day you could winzip a file over several floppy discs. Can you do that with current technology???

I agree about burning them to DVD. But get good quality blanks. It's a false economy to buy cheap ones because when you want to copy or watch the film months or years later you'll find that half of them won't play. As I've found out from bitter experience!

I am not trying to be a smart as* here.
I am trying to dis-spell myths.
While a DVD disk looks just like a CD disk they are different animals.
And DVD disks require a different optical drive technology than do CD disks.

Just like the new Blu-Ray disks [25GB capacity] require another type of optical drive technology.
