Have you tried unpairing the devices as suggested by Apple: "1.Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings
2.On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app, tap the My Watch tab, then tap your watch at the top of the screen. Tap info icon next to the watch that you want to unpair, then tap Unpair Apple Watch > Apple Watch > Unpair Apple Watch" |

Thanks all for those suggestions
Umm, the watch is a series 1, The iPhone OS I updated today Also, the watch does not get passed the set up stage so I can't even get to any setting at all The phone even though initially paired looses it and is then not listed as a paired device on the phone. 2 thing come to mind, 1 take the watch back to store or 2, throw watch and phone at wall Might have a look at the support communities threads.
