Imesh. Ilivid. Another busy bastard that takes over and is difficult to remove. I say difficult because I have spent a couple of hours and it is still there trying to be the default for everything.

ASK, Avoid. It wants to be default and is bundled in ith so many downloads where you have to tick a box to not install it. It will suggest the cheapest price for anything typed into the search. Stanley Steamer (car dating back to 1908) monkeys testicles. I dont want any, but I had to confirm the software would say we can answer any 'ask' because most software is written by fuckwits with no understanding of human intellect as in 'cry wolf'

Then make it easier: NEVER install anything that comes along with anything else. Most freeware comes with bundled stuff that may look interesting and useful to people but it isn't. That's the trick, it looks useful. And always, and I do mean ALWAYS, do a custom installation when you're installing anything, even if it is just a simple web browser. Because if you do default (full) installation of software, you'll be saying "yes" to whatever changes it does on your system.
Besides all that, a healthy habit is not to fill up your system with software. Do you actually need it? No, most of the times you don't. But people will still install it, and they'll regret it later. |

Its an interesting one
Software developers that have been offering their goods for free users have been getting more and more desperate of finding ways of recouping their costs. WHY? We foolishly use ad-blocking which deprives developers of much needed AD income to simply recoup costs This is the sole reason why freeware is now coming with 3rd party inclusions Nothing malicious just simple survival in play I seem to recall some talk about the ad-blocking software developers were going to let through certain Ads so they wouldnt all go to the wall.Obviously that hasnt had a significant financial benefit and so the 3rd party inclusion age is here to stay. OPTIONS If you use freeware turning off your ad-blocking/no script etc MIGHT help some developers avoid going into partnership with 3rd parties Common sense says you browse inside a sandbox like sandboxie if you do this as sites do get hacked OR You carefully read every instruction during installation and select the right opt in or out options No substitute for paying attention when you install any new software where ever it comes from and that includes stuff you've bought. As to the annoying pests uninstall the software and then do it right or go looking for a better alternative If the 3rd party inclusions are listed as serial pests as some are they may be included on the likes of those below and removed Make sure you do any removal in safemode PF8 - the real annoying inclusions have a habit of morphing if you try and remove them any other way malwarebytes super antispyware esets online scanner Hijack This - for when you've had enough - run -save log and post on an anti-malware forum like bleeping computer Who actually suggest the below as the solution Download and install the Revo Uninstaller (Freeware) google "alot removing bleeping computer" for the instructions CHOOSE the freeware sites you use wisely - download / cnet is not a good choice - corporate sharks I've found all my software on here with very few if any 3rd party inclusions http://www.techsupportalert.com/cont...ry-editors.htm This response by asdfasdfasdf on Pdfforge is on the money Please drop bundled installer, it is installing stuff considered malware (e.g. Babylon Toolbar) I really don't understand the complaints. These folks give away great software. It is really great. It is the only program that I have ever seen (and I have looked) that allows one to que prints across multiple applications and then save them all as a single pdf. How did you people miss the option to not install the toolbar? The "are you sure?" check is even more obvious in this version than the the 1.2x series. Pay attention for f@#&! sake! It really amazes me that people bitch and moan because these guys try to recoup (not make) money for providing this great software and its associated overhead (their time, web hosting, etc). And, they only do so by giving you the option to opt out. Dear Pdfforge, since some vocal citizens of the net are incapable of following simple instructions, I suggest you offer a paid version, guaranteed to be ad/toolbar free. PDFSam offers an enhanced version with a choose-what-you-want donation. In fact, it would be cool if you could team up with PDFSam because the new Architect program has some similar functions. Thanks again for the great software Last edited by buttsie; September 16th, 2012 at 12:09 AM.. Reason: adding comment |

Did you manage to get rid of the bastard? If not, and you said what you'd tried that had failed, people could make some further suggestions.
