No doubt the media will sing Klippity and Liverpool's praises, but if you stand off and watch the opposition the chances are you will be on the wrong end of a drubbing, looks like last week we were just up for the spuds. Today it might have been better if we were attired in beach wear.

That the Spurs win just happened to mean they were now safe was nearly always going to mean the next game would be a let down. The Hammers are like the rest of the mid-table teams, who arent as bad as the bottom 3/4 Nothing to really play for except staying away from the relegation zone. Expect more than a few of them probably know they'll be moved on in the off season no matter how well they finish the season off. Spurs 2 Man U 1 Spurs maturing as a side it would seem - or just them saying goodbye to their home fortress - unbeaten all season at home - first time since 1964-65 http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/39833969 |

Then again how many PL & Football League clubs are in dire financial straits and teetering on the brink. |

I honestly thought that West Ham could beat Liverpool, but I've never seen defenders that so resembled a bunch of traffic cones set out for dribbling practice as did the Hammers' defence .
It's not over yet but it's been a disappointing season for me. An Arsenal vs Chelsea FA Cup Final (yawn), and total dominance by the big spenders. Everton have made a brave fist of trying to keep pace, but every non-relegated team from 8th place downwards have barely scraped the points needed to avoid the drop. How any of them can hope to do more than survive in this league is beyond me. I thought the increased tv revenues might level the playing field a bit but it seems to have gone the other way. At least we get to see Arsenal in the Europa League next year if Liverpool don't screw it up against 'Boro.

As much as commenttators and pundits wibble on about the PL and the £millions paid out for each place in the table, it's increasingly obvious that the majority of the players really couldn't give a flying one once they've a) avoided relegation b) qualified for europe c) ditto, CL. Now, more than ever supporters are being sold expensive crap and being told it's 24 carat. No pride, no diginity and far too much conceit, ludicrously inflated wages, hangers-on and Murdoch media hype. It needs to change.
