Here is the classic joke/hoax by BBC's major news program Panorama. It is the Spaghetti Harvest in Ticino (Switzerland), first aired April 1, 1957.

Default Hurdy-Gurdy!

A I mentioned in a post in the movies seen lately thread, the DVD version had a short interview with Bear McCreary in it. I had primarily known him as the composer for the Outlander television series, but of course he has done a lot of other TV shows and movies. The only mention that I had even seen before of the instrument was the song 'Hurdy Gurdy Man', so it was really interesting to hear what he had to say. I tried to find that 7 minute interview on line, but this was the closest I could find:

Black Sails - Hurdy Gurdy

When searching, I came across a young lady who named herself 'Patty Gurdy', she has one tricked-out version of the instrument - and she can sing!

The Longing

Game of Thrones intro

And check out her speaking voice:

Explaining features of Her Hurdy Gurdy

So cute, when she says "Because I have a G string down here"

I like his interviews, casual yet most of the time informative. Unfortunately, sometimes there are problems with their microphone equipment and set-ups. Here are two of his best, at least for me:

Jamie Lee Curtis

So honest all the time - loved her talking about the trip to England and the House of Lords gift shop...

Zoe Bell

Another one who doesn't seem to have a filter on what she says. She has some great stories.

The last few months I've been watching clips from the Graham Norton Show. I generally don't watch talk shows but somehow this got the most out of me. He gets great guests who tell some really nice stories. I'll share some I enjoyed, some I laughed hysterically at.

Kevin Costner and his writer friend.

Bill Murray and Matt Damon laughing out loud at Hugh Bonneville.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfEVLzd5j7Q

Something from last week, Cuba Gooding Jr. sharing what it's like at the Oscars.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0sv1WE7W74

I think this is a famous moment, Mark Ruffalo burns Josh Widdicombe

It seems like his British guests tell the most outrageous stories. First, Miriam Margolyes.

And Greg Davies.
