British Royal Family
As the country goes completely overboard for the Diamond Jubilee, I wondered what the feeling is of our members towards the Monarchy?
My own opinion is they are so far out of touch with reality its frightening. In fact, they would be Britains most dysfunctional family. In a nation full of spongers and cheats, Lizzie and her inbreds lead by example. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kezkk...eature=related |

When Lizzie pops her clogs or abdicates or whatever it is that happens... will Charles be HEAD of the Church of England....? A man who got married whilst having a long term affair with another married woman is to be head of a church that says such things are a big no-no? I'm not a religious man but that seems a bit hypocritical to say the least.
The only thing good about the royals is the odd day we get off work when one of them cops it/gets married/has an anniversary. I can't believe some folk look up to these lot, I really can't. Take off the 1950's blinkers and look at them for what they really are. I am not a subject. Cheers, Dumbassgo.

I hate all their hangers on, ladies in waiting etc, what a miserable po faced unsmiling, sycophantic bunch of tw*ts. They keep rolling them out every time there is a programme on the royals, even with the sound turned off, I find them deeply depressing.
The word lickspittles to describes them nicely. |

I'm all for the Queen - she keeps toerags like Blair and Brown and Cameron and their ghastly spouses in their place.

I think for a lot of folks in the UK the Royals are just a bit of background noise you occasionally notice when one of them hatches, matches or dispatches.
I'm vaguely Royalist myself but I could live in a Republic, no problem One thing I have noticed about the Royals. It's OK for us lot to have a pop at them But if any furriners have a go... They're OUR punching bag Gawd bless the lot of 'em Except Edward, and others to numerous to mention.

I do recall somebody making an interesting point on this issue. We know it costs the British taxpayer (A term I despise but I won't elaboate here) to have a Royal family but would being a republic be any cheaper? How much does it cost US taxpayers to keep a President on a White House or French taxpayers to keep their President in the Elysee Palace? It's a question worth asking in my opinion.

I think we had a similar debate before. Since that former debate went out of hand, I'll stay away. But I can proudly say I'm glad we got rid of the Habsburg leeches.

Forget the trail of merciless bloodshed, they are well worth £1 per year of British taxpayers money.

NO way Pedro. I'm an Irishman and the English Queen does not reign over me. They are ruthless wasters. A firing squad would be to good for them. Up until quiet recently they had people wipe their arses. Then all the junior royals you never see. WTF do they do? Then Andy and Eddie a pair of spoilt brats
