Why have you never .... ?

Let's face it, the vast majority of people on this forum are men who get pleasure from looking at pictures of a variety of women in whatever pose / dress / situation/location etc. which we find enticing. I think I'm on fairly safe ground with that statement!

Assuming that most of us consider this a fairly pleasurable activity, also assuming that most of us have a camera & approx. 50% of the other people around us are female, then why are we viewing other people's work rather than doing it ourselves? Obviously the vast majority of women out there really have very little interest in getting their kit off for you, but an amount of them would for the right price. Why aren't you out there taking photos yourself? Shy, broke, inhibited, repressed, petrified, ambivolent - just wondering why people prefer fantasy rather than doing it themselves.

Any thoughts welcome.

Lack of people skills, lack of budget, lack of camera.

The next best thing for me would be drawing or painting. However - lack of budget + lack of artistic talent = one big 0.

You must have people skills - you're a doctor! So there's a couple who are talentless (I agree we can all 'point & shoot' and get lucky on occasion but I suspect you should know something about lighting, exposures etc.). Keeping fantasy fantasy would seem a sound idea, just in case the reality turns into something far less enjoyable. The girlfriend would usually be a blocker I suspect (or wife), especially if you wanted to use he camera. Brave man Seany for having the guts to admit your cowardice

I'm not a photographer but I have enough academic photographic training to know how very far from being a good photographer I am.

I was until a few years ago an illustrator, and I've done enough life-drawing in my time to know that working making images of attractive naked women, even when they're posed erotically, isn't a turn on, it's hard work.

There's a huge difference between taking a few amateur snaps of the girlfriend or the missus as a bit of foreplay - or as a wallet-sized thrill, or to circulate as "reader's wives" photos - and arranging, planning, and carrying out a photo-shoot.

And most women, even when up for it psychologically, aren't up to it physically - cameras show up their physical flaws.

I'd rather talk girls into bed than in front of a camera.

I'll let better photographers than I am chase down the pretty, sexy models and do the hard work of photographing them and I'll be content to aesthetically appreciate the results later, or to to use the vernacular, have a good wank over them.
