Recently I was watching a TV series called Top of the Pops: 1983, in which they showed classic episodes of Top of the Pops from the year 1983 in chronological order on a weekly basis.

And it was on one of these shows that I came across THIS-

The Sign of the Times by the Belle Stars:

The first time I saw this performed on the show it took my breathe away!

To me they just ooze STYLE and CLASS!

In particular that bit at 1:10, where they are wearing those white suits-that scene just really got me going for some reason.

I think what it is is that now days people are always complaining about how society is MALE DOMINATED and men do almost everything, but watching them do this song I feel that it shows that strong women can do things every bit has well as men can in that sense!

I been waiting for the women to dominate the world ever since I saw "The Worm that Turned" on the 2 Ronnies in the 80s.......especially as the secret police would look like this......

I remember watching that too, and thinking much the same thing! Diana Dors as the Chief of the Secret Police was a particular turn-on too.

I remember watching a documentary about The Two Ronnies on TV a while back, and they said the problem with that sketch was that although it was trying to embrace the idea of feminine equality it was still written from a MALE PERSPECTIVE by a male writer.

The result being was that even though it was meant to be about feminism these women were still walking around in short skirts like supermodels.
