Earlier, maxedout humorously suggested that more people would join the Australian Sex Party if it changed its name (for fear of being labeled 'pervs').

In all seriousness, that's EXACTLY the problem.
The party are out to question why human sexuality is 'perverted' ...who sold us that crock? Step forward none other than the most 'confirmed' pervs on the planet, without naming names, and you can look even further than the usual suspects... they can all hang their heads in shame (since there was really nothing to be truly shameful about sex to begin with, they found the one truly innocent thing, childhood, and perverted it, either with sexual abuse, or sexual guilt, repression, and fear).

Remember your mama admonishing "Stop that! Nice boys/girls don't touch themselves there!" Couldn't she have saved you years of pain by adding the qualification "...in public." ?

When we can all get over this bullshit of snickering like 13 year olds, slinking into sex-shops, and generally apologising for having a dick and the desire to stick it where we see fit without harming others or disrupting the public going about their business, then where is the 'perversion?'

Some would say that I'm suggesting, if not sexual anarchy, then the 'disrespect' or return to the objectification of women (haha did we ever leave? I must have blinked!)
Poppycock! Scociety does a brilliant job of dissing women in a million ways, plus on the sides of buses in case you missed it, every day.
Note: I said 'without harming others' that includes their sensibilities.
It would be nice for them to extend me a similar courtesy, by 'respecting' the presence of tasteful and discreet brothels in my neighbourhood, or sex shops, and so forth. When a Sex Party candidate of either sex can knock on someones door and be treated with the same disdain as the Labour or Lib/Tory party, rather than as a perv/curiosity/potential shag, then we will have had progress. Still, no-one thought a black man would be president this soon. There is hope.

I would ask all members to go and have a look at the party website, http://www.sexparty.org.au/ you might be surprised at what they stand for, and if you are outraged by any of their policies, then you need to take yourself aside and give yourself a good talking-to, cos you're not truly free of someone else's old hand-me-down sexual shackles.

Like a dog and a collar, they grow up thinking it's a part of them, its not, someone put it there...
