Erm! I have no idea what this thread is about.
RPG? D&D? So I'm guessing some kind of gaming thing? But no matter. The answer is, if you enjoy it (and it's not illegal or damaging to yourself or anyone else) do whatever it is to whatever extent you like. Just don't forget to break off occasionally to feed the cat. |

"Blue warrior needs food, badly... Blue warrior is about to die..."
Seriously, I think that Gauntlet was a light-hearted version of D&D, similar to how Tunnels & Trolls was a board game like that (or maybe Crossbows & Catapults, et al.) The '80s were a time of strong imagination, and as a certain rapper said on CNN: "There's never going to be another decade like the '80s." |

@bloke57: D&D, otherwise called Dungeons & Dragons, is a fantasy Role-Playing Game (RPG) invented in the 1970s by Mr. Gary Gygax, with some assistance from other designers like Dave Arneson et al. AD&D, otherwise Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, is a more complex version of the game.
And "Final Fantasy" just refers to the best 8-bit Nintendo RPG, which I played circa 1990. |

I had that game. The examples you show remind me of the ice cave from FF II (American version).

Thanks to everyone who has responded so far.
Here are two more examples of what I have been experimenting with on RPG Maker: These are from what I have named the Minotaur Gauntlet, a challenging maze-like layout that combines the look of Gauntlet boards with more D&D-like features, including cavern stalagmites and magical glyphs on the floor of certain rooms. Yeah, I'm weird, but the engine allows anyone to just make up whatever they want for the default tile sets... |
