That depends on whether you worked in a genuine call centre offering help and advice or one solely designed by greed inspired oiks to cold call and harass ordinary people and extort money by lying. If it was the former then I feel for you, if the latter then you can guess the rest

Look at all the WhoCallsMe style websites that have been generated by these annoying leeches, my current one is 01269 849011 and when I get to the phone there is never anyone there, presumably as it's a random number dialler waiting for an available drone to pick up the phone and start their spiel.

If they did it will no doubt be that they are definitely not selling me anything but it will be another "survey" they are conducting (try it for a laugh and a few questions in watch them change tack

) or the Government has grants that I can apply for or they are from Microsoft and want to help me get rid of a virus or they are from Sky and my account is due for renewal or hey !!!! you've won a cruise, yes really or the irritating message left on your phone that starts "Press 2 for ... " so you think you've missed something press 2 and get put through to a premium rate line .... you get the picture. I actively detest these bottom dwellers and I'd be the first to blow the whistle if this is what I was employed to do.

The industry is totally incapable of self regulation and the organisations set up to monitor it are a complete disgrace. I've registered lots of complaints with TPS and over a year later some of those numbers are still being mentioned online. Ofcom, TPS etc are not fit for purpose and work along the lines of see no evil, hear no evil and keep schtum if asked.

I suspect the owners of many of these are based abroad and are beyond our legislation but there is no reason other than sheer apathy that the UK authorities cannot get a grasp on companies based here that use these practices. Given the fact that the US/UK and other nations can ally themselves to spy on ordinary people it beggars belief that when there is international criminal extortion going on they cannot use those same powers to track down and close these organisations.

No doubt if we all got the number of the head of TPS and rang the bugger every week or so to say Hi and ask what they were doing about it we would be had up for harassment. Funny old world innit

Why stop at beating the crap out of them? We all know people who need to be sent back to Hell- and if execution was allowed we'd fire the bullet to send them there.

But back to the question... in my case it'd be the bully from my grade school and middle school years. Beating the crap out of him would have saved me and probably others too. But I'm pretty sure life beat the crap out of him before he ever turned 20. He's either dead or in prison.

I'm running the monitor off my cheap 'n cheerful netbook and it's behaving almost as good as the PC was

Wrong on the first count, when he was a cadet at Dartmouth, he had to wash all his own kit, the same when he was a junior officer on board ship. He also refused to wear the Red Beret as Colonel in Chief of the Parachute Regiment until he had passed P Company, and his jump course, so on that alone he has my respect, if you ever meet him, you will find him to be genuinely interested in what you have to say, probably a lot more clued up on it than you could ever expect and lastly a really nice bloke! Which I will not say for his dh brothers!

As for the second, I really would not take a bet on it!
