I was in my high school Biology class. The class was studying different kinds of plants. All the students were required to use a scalpel to cut off some leaves of a plant to examine it under a microscope. When it was my turn, I was careless and cut off not only a small leaf from a plant but part of my little left finger as well. My finger was wrapped by the school nurse, but it continued to bleed for almost an entire day. Stupid trailmaster

Another crazy thing I did also happened when I was a sophomore in high school. This was in 1966. I was kind of a loner back in those days, but I befriended this guy who was in my gym class. He had a house just three blocks from the high school. He was unknown to me at the time a juvenile delinquent. In those days at the end of Christmas people would throw out their old Christmas trees. All trees at that time were real, plastic trees had not been invented yet. We would gather all these trees and drag them to a big open lot, and set them afire. The flames would shoot up over 100 feet, but unknown to us was a police car just across the street, behind a tree. The cop put on his siren and chased us down, and got a hold of us and put us in the back seat of his patrol car. He said we were really in trouble, but my friend who had had many run-ins with the police before pleaded with the cop and he finally let us go. I never told my parents of this incident, because for one thing this was just the beginning of a whole bunch of crazy illegal things that "Jimmy" and I started to do almost one day each week for the next few months. I was saddened to hear that many years after I graduated that Jimmy who was in prison at that time had died under mysterious circumstances!!

I got one that just happened a couple of weeks ago.
I moved to my current city 8 years ago. I've lived in apartments ever since then. When I go to the gym I always go at about midnight or 1am since no one will be there. In the winter months when the frost is on the car, I will get in and roll my windows down and stick my head out and move the car away from the building over to the center of the complex or to the front gate area to wait for the windshield to clear. I do that so that my neighbors who might be sleeping don't have to listen to my engine run for the time it takes to clear the windshield. You know being a good neighbor. Well a couple of weeks ago I got in the car in the frost didn't appear to be as bad on the right side of the glass so I didn't roll down the windows since I thought I could see good enough to move the car. Backed the car out, headed SLOWLY down to the front gate. Suddenly BANG!!!! Yes I could see out the right side just a little bit but I couldn't see out the left side and I ended up running up over a curb. Broke the bumper cover, grille molding, ripped the engine under cover, and knocked the steering wheel off center. For 8 years I've done it exactly the same way every winter, EXCEPT THIS TIME!!! My little lapse in judgement is now going to cost me $1200 to fix and 3 days rental car bill.

As a child (13) i tried being an adult on my own. I "stole" my mothers car on Christmas Eve (1-2 am).Seen older brother do it ..how hard could it be? (he wasn't' there at the moment but is how i got the keys).
The alley was dimly lit only by a street light maybe 50 yds away, never had lessons of any sort, gave it way too much gas off the bat in reverse,i panic! mistaking the gas for the brake ,repeatedly, Booom!! into a neighbors car across an icy alley. Hit it hard enough to break the axle and push that car into his second car,and second car into possibly a third with minor damage. Police arrive and i have to wake my poor mother ,was almost charged with GTA that morning. As an adult the struggle is continuous..lets just say i am still the same scared kid behind the wheel. #stupid |

If only "Jackass" took viewer submissions...
Well I once took a soccer ball to the gonads in middle school and thought it would be a good idea to apply a little "Icy Hot" to my nether region to try to relieve the pain...
If they had this product in Medieval Times it'd be a hit in torture chambers!

Pardon me if I am repeating myself, but I tell this story often.
When I was in college, still living at home, our front lawn had a gopher hole appear in it. On the first weekend I had, after seeing some movie where they were using flamethrowers to burn out Japanese troops in caves, I decided it would be a good idea to pour gas down the hole and light it. I had a shovel nearby to brain the burning gopher when he ran out. So I poured the gas in it and dropped a match into the hole from what I thought was a safe distance. I thought wrong. A spout of flame shot up past my head, burning off part of one eye brow and part of the hair on the right side of my head. Although I tried to cut off the krinkily stuff and washed it several times, I still stunk of burnt hair for several days. I later found out that my dad had killed the gopher several days before my fire experience. |
