Female Sexual Harassment

Just once and not in a bad way. A manager of one of our clients that had always been a good business contact and someone that was very helpful and always kind. I had worked with her for over 12 years on and off on various client/ provider projects. About 5 years older than me and also married with kids as was I.

At the annual meeting of our clients which I co-sponsored on behalf of my company along with 8 or so other provider companies, a lot of alcohol was consumed and at one point I ended up being backed into a corner by my 'friend' and snogged quite determinedly......... by a client manager that had always been very helpful in business.

For the rest of the night, I made myself scarce and always sat with other provider company people. It didn't change the way that worked together and was never talked about again.

I told my wife...and she thought that it was hilarious as she knew how embarrassed I felt about it.

It's very easy , when hearing of female sexual harassment , to say "Lucky blighter" , or "What's the problem , wish it was me " , but it can actually be very nasty . In many ways it can be worse for us fellas , because of the "Lucky blighter" syndrome .
I myself ,as a young fella of 19 , was sexually harassed , by some of the older men and women when I started my first job in a warehouse .
It was an "initiation" ceremony , that all newcomers were expected to go through .
Now , I enjoy a bit of banter , but this was well over the top .
The charge hand (a big burley , bearded bloke) kept a cricket bat , or paddle to spank people who made mistakes . It was carried out in front of the other workers , each stroke causing a huge cheer . He also seemed to enjoy flashing his huge backside at me ,and telling me he was going to smother me .
The initiation ceremony ,was to be tied naked to a toliet seat ,while the female employees (mainly middle aged ) would gather round to "inspect" your private parts .
They tried to catch me one Friday afternoon ,and I was terrified . I grabbed a "stanley" knife , and threatened them not to come closer .
They backed down "OK , mate , it's only a joke etc" and let me go .
The following day I was sacked for not being up to the job .
It was over 30 years ago , but I still bear the humiliation today ,and dread he day I ever meet up with one of them again .
I wonder what the police would say if I went to them with historic abuse allegations ?
I'll never find out ,because I'm not brave enough .
These initiation rites were common in the 70's/80's , so I would love some man to go to the police , but I guess most of them still bear the shame like I do

& also a lot of those women will say , WE were the ones who "MADE" them do it! You know I just remembered another time a girl was all over me at work. It was actually my very first job. I wouldn't necessarily call it sexual harassment but she came on strong. I actually hid in the bathroom to get away from her!

Not related to work- As far as the old days, yeah I know it's very non-pc but when a women said "No" it wasn't "No means no", it meant try harder. Or at least that's how we were raised. You had to seduce a women, and you did that by breaking down her will. (and many times that included getting her buzzed) Of course in reality the girl had all the power and it was the game you had to go thru.

Not harassed as such but I once worked in an office with a very attractive girl who massively played up to all the guys who would pay her any attention. Always wore low cut tops and flirted very openly most of the guys in the office.

Funny thing was, she thought she was getting everyone wrapped around her little finger, but when she thought she had everyone where she wanted them, she made a power play for a promotion / pay rise and promptly got told "no chance". She left the company very shortly thereafter.

Thing is, you could just tell that if anyone had returned her advances, she would have been straight to HR screaming "harassment" as quick as you like.

I don't know how many of you guys are dads, but am sure that those that are can back me up on this. My favorite sister is nearly 16 years younger than I.
