I would hate to pour cold water on the achievements of Stockport and Wrexham but they have had the benefit of financial doping. Which is what the sport seems to be all about these days.

Liverpool FC plan to increase season ticket prices despite protests. You would think that with all the money sloshing about fans could get cheaper tickets, those that used to go but cannot afford to do so might get that chance. Or perhaps cheaper food inside the stadium or cheaper shirts. Not a bit of it.

These corporations just want to see how much they can squeeze out of the supporter. I just wish fans here would have the gumption to do what those in the Bundesliga did. Organize stadium protests and boycotts until those in charge got the message.

How for a utopia where all clubs are owned by fans for the fans. Well worth watching this:

Are billionaires ruining football ? Of course they are. And these shameless clubs have also been involved with some very dodgy companies who have been running scams defrauding millions of people.

Greed and never ending greed on top. In this case from some who were duped as well. What a grubby sport football has become. Infantino is even worse than Blatter if that were possible.

WHU have increased ticket prices by 6 to 8%. Three groups. Adults, under 21 & over 66.

Adults cheapest 345, over 66 u21 £170, u18 £109, all up the back of stands poor view.

Band 1 adult £1175
66 Billy Bonds £1445 all age groups
66 West £1720 All age groups

Closing date June 4th 2024

New rules if you do not attend your ticket must be listed on the club website, four fails and ST will be revoked. Club fed up with all the empty seats on match days, except Euro games. Sullivan maintains they kept prices low as they did not expect to be able to fill the ground. Next season capacity will be 67000 and rumours abound season tickets reduced as DS likes the day trippers as they can sell the seats for a £100+, which explains the new ST rules.

Henry Winter has been an unusual football journalist. He's consistently remarkably good
Speaking personally, I cannot think of any other football writer who files match reports to games that I've attended and I've found myself nodding in agreement 99.9% of the time.
Now it seems he has been made redundant by the Times. By what measure do they think this is a good thing?
Time was, when Winter was at the Telegraph before his 7 year transfer to the 'Thunderer' he kept up that odd quirk whereby the Daily Telegraph as a newspaper was a woeful right-wing rag, but the coverage of cricket and football was second to none. It was speculated that the DT had two completely different readerships, one of whom never, ever ventured backward of the sports section.

I hope he reappears, and soon - if the BBC want a pundit who really knows his stuff...er...maybe not, then.
