Well, I've been using Firefox for many years, both on Windows and on Linux.

Chrome has grown quite a lot among non-technical users during the last few years. Chrome is based on Chromium, an open source browser.

Opera is now based on Chromium too, quite a lot like Chrome but less annoying and also lighter, and comes with a built-in ad blocker.

As Buttsie said, try and see which one feels right for you.

Opera 12 build. Uses the original Opera Presto engine. More user options than any other browser. Since it is an older version it occasionally crashes but that is the only problem I've ever had with it. The advantage with Presto Opera is that almost no-one used it and therefore it never showed up on hackers radar. ALL builds 13.0 and above use the chromium engine.

I find chrome work's best on VEF ... Microsoft Edge still appears to have issues ... even on my Windows 10
