far as high school basketball........the announcer does the starting lineups

My favourites (in no particular order)

All UFO's systems run Windows so can be hacked into with a laptop (or flown by anyone with a pilot's licence.)

You can hide behind tall grass and be safe from machine gun bullets.

When the hero is captured, all baddies explain their plans in detail and take care to point out how it can be foiled. They then don't just SHOOT the hero, they tie them up and "leave them to die".

Everyone's knows a friend who can hack into the CIA or FBI computers.

When the hero is faced with a baddie who has a gun, the baddie puts the gun down "to make it a fair fight".

When the hero is confronted by five baddies, the baddies only attack one at a time.

When defending a castle, the defenders allow the attackers to scale the walls with ladders and ropes because it's much more exciting to have hand-to-hand combat on the battlements.

... and the one that REALLY gets my goat ...

Helicopters can't hover! If the hero's being chased by a helicopter full of gun-toting baddies, the helicopter has to swoop backwards and forwards like a plane. Doh! (Of course, on the rare occasions when a helicopter can at least fly SLOWLY, it's impossible for the guy with the machine gun to hit a car, even if it's only ten yards away!)

Default Lousy shots

Why do all special forces teams seem to be lousy shots?
They can empty 50 guns and leave 3 or 4 dead or injured. Could you imagine them holding Rorke's Drift?

Default The A Team

Following on from the last post, did anyone ever get hit by a bullet in The A Team? And when captured by the baddies, they were always impounded in a fully furnished workshop. I could go on. Maybe the show should have been called The Clich-A Team.

Don't you love when they throw a dozen bars of gold (more than 300 lb/126 kg) in a suitcase and toss it around like it's a bag full of socks and undies? Playing catch with it off of rooftops and such.

What you NEVER see or hear in films (anti-cliches?)

"Damn, that Ferrari's quick! We'll never keep up with it in this Citroen 2CV!"
"Oh bug*er! Whoever built this bomb only used one colour of wire!"
"She's my new assistant? Jeez, she's pug ugly!"
"Of course I can't fly a friggin' plane!"
"I'm sorry but it WILL actually take me longer than 30 seconds to work out what password they used on their computer."
"Aliens are attacking? I'm out of here!"
"You say I shouldn't go into the forest alone? Okay, I won't."
"So, there's a bomb the size of a grapefruit hidden somewhere in Los Angeles? You know what? We'll never find it!"
"You're trying to bribe me? Okay, call it 100 grand and you've got a deal."
"Damn! I was wrong. That volcano DIDN'T erupt."
