Liverpool 4, West Ham United 0. I think that Liverpool has served notice it's going to be a team to be reckoned with. Sure, it's only the first game, but what a game.

Vic....
Many clubs have a "bogey-team", that for some voodoo or other curse they never overcome ~ except once a decade. Then it's back to the norm. The Hammers have that with Liverpool...always have had. Blues have that with 91 other clubs Seriously tho' ~ I've read that the Pells is a supreme strategist but his weak point is 'man-Management'... the hand on shoulder, comfort/support and so on. Bit like Wenger. No other team, bar Jose's could have anticipated that Liverpool line-up, nor that Liverpool formula. Pells played his own strategem ... going into it blind. It failed... OK..... One match If other Manager's take note, they will realise Klopp now has the resources to change/adjust and tweek ... like Pep.... so should they play their own strategy, or just defend and Blott? The Hammers were unfortunate as being First Up. No Sin, No Blame. If they aren't Top 7/8 by Christmas..... the dildo brothers might have a joint stroke Well...here's hoping |

Caraboose Cup ~ whatever :-)
The round EFL... before the Prem slug in.
Some choice fixtures, with many Lower League teams looking for a JACKPOT if they get through this round. Like Yeovil beat villa...please ... and are Away to Man Utd..... Instant Solvency Yep... I love this Cup for that reason. Let Man Cty/Pool/Utd etc send their Acadamies... please |

Just thought i'd bump this round. Though as it stands I'm bound to finish higher than I ever have in any other attempt at this but i'm also going to be involved in a relegation battle all season so swings and roundabouts.

Just in case you have not seen the statue of GT that was unveiled a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately I was not there but took these snaps today. Up close its a great likeness with very apt words on the base. I think barring another injury crisis we should be bouncing around in midtable again. I don't mind not getting Charltonitis. Infact we made a profit this summer transfer wise so should it be needed there is always January. In my other area of expertise Sampaoli was eventually forced out and is interested in taking on of Argentina's chief rivals Mexico as the new head coach. Gareca gave up on waiting from the AFA and signed a new deal with Peru. Argentina are currently with a temporary manager Lionel Scaloni ex of West Ham and bizarrely chosen ahead of Javier Zanetti at the 2006 World Cup. Scaloni won the COTIF tournament with Argentina u20 and his first line up omits Messi who is on perhaps permanent gardening leave and maybe a good thing too. Many of the choices Scaloni has made should have gone to Russia in the first place. Recalled are captain of Fiorentina German Pezzella alongside Alan Franco still of Independiente although Villareal are very much interested with a recall also for back in form Fabricio Bustos. Midfield sees Asascibar and Battaglia called up when they should have been by Sampaoli along with Leandro Paredes and Lo Celso which makes for a very young and immensely talented midfield. Upfront Dybala pulls the reins after having managed 22 minutes at the World Cup. Lautaro Martinez sparkling for Inter in pre-season is also recalled alongside clubmate Mauro Icardi. No sign of Kun, di Maria and thank goodness Higuain. Exciting attacking midfielder Matias Vargas is also called up for the first time as is Franco Vasquez, Dybala's former partner in crime at Palermo. Amazing what it takes to be a football manager or selector. I had most of those names pencilled in for the World Cup. Looks like the Messi club has departed and his inner circle which can only be good for Argentina. The u20 also have plenty of rough gems, Nehuen Paz at the back , Agustin Almendra of Boca a tremendously young but very gifted box to box player and Facundo Colidio who at 18 has worked himself into Internazionale's first team squad a tremendous young striker. Back here in England in the Championship the question is will Marcelo El Loco Bielsa continue to work his magic with Leeds ? Or will his punishing tactics better suited to international football perish in the fatigue of a long season. Or indeed will he fall out with the Chairman ? A high probability given his tendency to speak honestly and his mind. So far so good. |

It is absolutely typical that as soon as Liverpool clap eyes on a good player like Nabil Fekir that another club comes sniffing around, in this case Chelsea, but it looks likely that neither Liverpool or them would get him, although he did say he would like to go to Liverpool. With the transfer window well and truly shut it might not happen. One of our bogie teams coming up on Monday-Crystal Palace against an old manager, Roy Hodgson. I hope we can continue our good record and keep up the top of the table. Who knows, we could be vying for top spot with City this season!
