Vintage Poses
I am working on some photography and I would love some input on Vintage style poses of the 1970's. I am not currently shooting with a model willing to do nudes (bummer) but would still like to pose her as close as possible to what I remember seeing in my dad's old playboys. Also, I'd be open to any suggestions as to how to affect the image to make it look more historically accurate. Not shitty instagram filters but real input as to what these images would look like if they'd been shot in 1974.
I appreciate any help and will post whatever work I achieve once it's done. Thank you. |

Try to get hold of a proper 35mm camera and several rolls of assorted decent quality old-type 35mm film, if you get lucky on ebay you might even track down something similar but medium format. Then comes the science bit... setup a shoot where you run each roll of film through the exact same set of lighting conditions and as far as possible model poses etc. Get them developed by somewhere that is capable of doing a good job (ie not a Boots 2-hour job, somewhere professional) and then have a look at what effect the differing fimstocks have. I always found Agfa to be quite "greenish" and for some of the others to be quite orangey... they're all different, and respond to different lighting setups in different ways. Once you have a feel for that you can use an editing package to replicate the effect of filmstock heterogeneity with a digital camera..
