This is a great loss, he was one of our best members, always so honest and helpful, he will be missed by us all, I had noticed he hadn't been around in a while, and I was hoping it was temporary but gone too soon, I remember I sent him a friend request, and he sent back a note saying we were already friends

Scoundrel-you surmise correctly-at least that is the reason he gave me privately-and to be honest his UN job was quite hectic, involved a LOT of travel, and some fairly extreme hours. None of it I suspect did his long term health prospects any good.

Very Sad indeed. A remarkable man with an interesting history and always good for a story or two. I missed him when he stopped posting but always hoped he'd return, sadly now just a hope. I'm trying to get some more info on his life which I'll be able to post, my best source is away at the moment so it may take a week or two.

Rest in Peace Sir.

Default Rest in Peace

Everyone says this at the end of their days, but honestly, we won't see his like again. What a a great moniker!

Well its an even cleverer pun....his first name was Roger...so his VEF identity was a nod to the old 'RogerRamjet' cartoon character...and given his career choice 'rupertramjet' was a tip of the hat in both directions....

So sorry to hear of his passing - always fair, always interesting and a man with real depth of character. Loved his sport and a pleasure to talk with.
RIP
