I simply contend that the demise of these no doubt excellent persons is not of such earth shaking consequence as to merit top spot on the BBC World Service News. Although I suppose the coverage does help shift the back catalogue - must be of benefit to somebody

Man, this BBC top spot seems to be a huge deal

Keep in mind that famous people affect the lives of many (be it good or bad).
Emotional impact is what makes a news item a top spot contender.

I'm sure the audience wants such a thing to be the top spot, just like it will be the number one topic the next day at work or school.

I see a lot of meaning in Britain's past history with Israel and I have neither forgotten nor forgiven it. You may have confused me with someone else.

I am a bit puzzled by your comment re Mrs May. I have no favourable opinion of her, not since she thought she was so certain to win the 2017 general election that she included a pledge to bring back foxhunting.

Oh I took no personal offense from them. I just wondered why such negatives about some one who had just died and was not a crook, politician (same thing?), child molester, etc.

I guess from some of the posts that the BBC is airing a lot of coverage? Now that I can see hit a nerve but it sure wasn't Aretha's fault.

Did you see the story of Sir Bruce Forsyth-his ashes are now buried under the stage of the London Palladium which was so beloved of the entertainer and it was his wish that his wife Wilnelia grant that wish. As if the Palladium's most famous son would be turned down by them. Didn't he do well!

Noticed it's very humid out again and will be so for the next few days but it is set to cool down again at the weekend. Also noticed these damn small flies around the back door, how they keep getting in we don't know but we think they could be fruit flies. I keep spraying the area with RAID fly and wasp spray but the buyers keep returning.
