USS Indianapolis was sunk after it delivered parts and uranium for the bomb. If it had been sunk prior to delivery they would have been actively looking for it as "Little Boy" would not have become operational.

The USS Indianapolis did deliver its atomic bomb related load and thus went off the radar when it did get sunk.

I guess you refer to this kind of article.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...-uprising.html

The kind of article in turn refers to this RT broadcast.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jy5F5nDuXYY

Strangely, Putin has not once mentioned an alleged 'danger of civil conflict' in Syria, nor did he mention a 'Syrian uprising'. What he said was that certain foreign forces try to exploit the need for reform in Syria for their own geopolitical purposes. I suppose he spoke in a diplomatic manner of the usual suspects. You know, the ones that are already all too well known for spreading democracy in Libya.

So I think it is safe to assume that the words 'civil conflict' and 'uprising' were deliberately put into Putin's mouth by British newspapers in order to make a few spin docs happy.

OPCW report on Salisbury, public information note the final paragraph
The report just confirms the statements given by the chemical and bioweapons laboratory in Porton Down. So what?

It was a substance that corresponds to the classification 'Novichok'. The degree of purity speaks for a state actor. The origin of the substance could not be determined. Which, btw, actually only corresponds to logic since the place of origin is identified on the basis of contaminants, but the substance in question is characterized by an unusually high degree of purity. The identification of the origin is therefore completely impossible for purely technical reasons. So on what exact basis did May have the audacity to lie to the British public and its allies by blaming Russia? Based on what evidence did the British government have the audacity to issue an 24-hour ultimatum to a nuclear power? This idiotic behavior alone is a complete political and diplomatic disqualification in itself.

In addition, the name and exact composition of the substance in question seems to be classified information, so not available to the general public I guess. The question may arise why this should be classified information, although the actual 'Novichok' formula is freely accessible to everyone.

There are too many obvious inconsistencies within the British Government's remarks and behavior. That is why it has now as much credibility as a shortsighted thimblerigger. There is simply no easy way out if one has fallen into the pit latrine.

2 points:

1) The poisoning in Salisbury is consistent with Russian operations dating back to Stalin.

2) Mr. Putin guaranteed that Russia had removed Assad's chemical weapon stockpiles after he gassed civilians during the Obama administration. I do not know why he is choosing to place Russian nationals in harm's way in Syria and deliberately provoking a loose cannon like Trump.

Like Roger says, that bomb was already shipped.

There would have no Hiroshima if that ship had gone down with the bomb, and history as you now it would likely be quite different.

He is probably hoping for some sort of incident, so he can retaliate by sending troops in somewhere that is of more immediate interest to him, like the Baltic States.

I do not think. This is a statement of fact.

Shrill story!
Any Russian would asked: "so what?". But not me. I was speechless with admiration. It was apparently a shining example of humour, of course, much better than Trump's. Although I guess, smart Americans should hide such experiences of their friends even from compatriots.

Today the Russian flag has the double headed eagles of the Romanovs (technically its the "Standard of the President", which is different than the national flag) -- but its headed by someone with an affection for the Soviet Union.

Do Russians see the current State as more as having more continuity with the Tsars or the USSR?

I believe it is Trump's money that makes him "successful" with women. Most people would say that is a fact.

I put this down as the result of using a second language. You don't realize what these statements mean when seen without context.

The "shrill" story occurred over the course of a year or more. He didn't hide what he was doing, a fool in love. I don't think anyone encouraged him to engage in it except for her - she was supposedly not attractive either - I only knew him thru one of his side jobs. A fat lonely guy wasted what money he had and now lives with his mother. Smart in some things, dumb regarding women.

We in the US read articles that state the majority of young Russian girls want to become prostitutes. Visitors to Moscow state the hotel bars are full of young women looking for foreigners. Your Gross Domestic Product is roughly 7% of the US's. These are things which would not make us proud if we were in your shoes.

You seem to have a big chip on your shoulder. So I guess you need to see us as your enemy. Maybe that is a fact of life for you, not for us.

I do wonder what you Russians write in Chinese internet forums. They are sitting on your border eyeing your natural resources. They are the reason why you have your hoard of tactical nuclear weapons. Do you call them enemies too? Do you plan mutual aide strategies with them while you decide the best way to backstab them? You should remember what happened when you cooperated with Germany to invade Poland to start WWII.

I might not have used the words that Roger has above, but I do see his point, the Russian posters on here are always knocking us, and with one very noticeable exception, fire back comments, which rarely answer the genuine question asked.

We are not trying to catch you out, about 98% of the population of the West bear no animosity towards Russia, I do not know anyone who hates Russia, in fact a lot of people have a real desire to go there, and not just for the sex industry, but to see the sites, The Winter Palace has a magical pull here, many would love to see the Ballet, hear the opera, and visit the sites we have all read about since we were children.

If you read the posts properly, you will find many of the posters, myself included, do not always agree with what our governments are saying, there are few of us who like Trump, or anything he says, in Britain he is openly mocked, both by the public and the media, most of us wonder how the hell he got elected in the first place, but even over that there are doubts.

I have said before, we read, we study, we try to check different news sources and we never believe one source, as for the government, we take most of what they say with a pinch of salt, in the West we have hundreds of easily accessible news sources, all with their own agendas, so we have the options.

By the way I have spent the last few days with officers from six nations, including Russians, we share one major thing in common, we are concerned about any escalation in the current situation, and thank the stars, that the rhetoric appears to have calmed down on both sides.

Very well put Rupert. I couldn't have said this better. I have great respect for Russia and its people.
